LSU head coach Les Miles received good news yesterday when two out-of-state linebackers committed to play their college ball in Baton Rouge. Kyle Prater, ranked No. 50 by Rivals.com, and Ryan Baker, No. 53, will shore up the Tigers' defense in years to come.

Baker is a stud, and very underrated. His stock will go way up before it is all said and done. Congrats.

Why would any LB go to LSU??? Go to the U where the big boys play

July 31, 2007  08:42 PM ET

Why would anyone go to the U? Well besides the fact if they have a criminal record and enjoy playing in a half empty Orange Bowl. Miami cant even win the friggin weak **** ACC.

July 31, 2007  09:50 PM ET

dmoney there hasnt been a guy from UM arrested this whole offseason, didnt u just have a LB arrested the other day?

August 1, 2007  09:41 AM ET

Put the crack pipe down, Berkely! Go the the U where U get an orange jumpsuit IF U graduate!

Sorry "CalBears",
What a laugh... Pac 10? They don't even rank in the top 4 conferences. SEC, Big 12, Big 10, ACC, then maybe, right above the Big East. I don't mean any disrespect to you. Cal is probably my favorite Pac 10 team, but don't make such a ridiculous statement. I guess you could use USC's record against us but since that is your most hated rival I doubt you will. If you did we would just use there schedule in defense.

By no means am I an LSU fan. They are a rival school, but lets face it, this is the SEC.

I clap my hands for you Miami fans since there has been no arrest this off-season. I think Randy will be a good Coach and hopefully drive home some discipline. Lets get through a season now with no fighting or arrest and we will have something to talk about.

August 1, 2007  02:27 PM ET

how many schools go thru the whole season without a fight or arrest?honestly?its very rare.did bama have an arrest or fight last yr?

August 1, 2007  03:56 PM ET

dmoney.... also to answer your question about why would anyone go there, how about because they had more #1 draft picks over the last 10yrs then anybody else

August 2, 2007  11:15 AM ET

How do you use USC's schedule when it's ranked as the 8th hardest schedule in the country. On top of that even if you did want to use that how do you explain the bowl record. I dont like cal either I hate the SEC even more but I do think the SEC top to bottom is stronger than the PAC 10 I think that's a given. But I will put the PAC 10 ahead of the ACC I mean come on Wake Forest won the conference and Maryland is being seen as a power house in that conference .

August 2, 2007  02:32 PM ET

LOL...the year LSU 'shared" the National Championship it would have beat all California teams put together.

I mean really....USC dodged a bullet, and please don't even compare Cali teams with anyone in SEC. The only reason you guys get hype is because you're on the West Coast with all the reporters.

Ok, I have to reply...

Browardcane...
Honestly I don't believe any team out there goes a year with out arrest. Every team has that problem. The bigger the school the more young superstar athletes playing games. However fighting on the field is not that common. Maybe a push here or there but no open brawls. I will give it to you that it was a one time thing but you can't say everyone does that. South Carolina did a few years back and some 1-AA schools but that is a discipline problem, hands down.

I may be an Bama boy but I live in Broward too and I have seen the amazing turn out UM has at home games. It is like a High School game back home. I am just disappointed in the fan support you guys have with your history over the last 20 years.

USC's#1fan...
Congratulations on the 8th ranked schedule. By the way preseason ranking of any kind is crazy. Lets see what that schedule is ranked at the end of the year. I have to give it to you though you killed a very overrated Razorback team last year. Yes my team lost to them by one point in 2OT after our now fired Coach put in a true freshmen kicker that missed a total of six, yes 6, FG's that day. Sorry had to let out some frustration... Anyway. I have no real problem with USC, hey our two teams have some nice history together back in the day. But I do not believe they would have this amazing winning record these last few years if they were in the SEC or Big 10.

Then you knock the ACC. I don't know what article you are reading but know one in the ACC considers Maryland a powerhouse and WF was a laugh. Only because FSU, UM , VT and GT had very bad years did these teams do anything last year.

I'm happy to see LSU getting good recruits. Everyone said that wen Saban left LSU would go down hill. I've never believed that. Saban is one heck of a coach, and I will always have a place in my heart for what he did at LSU. I still shudder at the years of mediocre LSU teams before DeNardo and Saban, and I don't want to go back to that.

I hope Saban does well in Alabama, but I have my doubts. Not of his coaching ablitity of course, but of the fans/school/support. Saban had better have Auburn as his #1 goal, or he won't last long. There is also the "Bear" factor. Please bama fans.....let Saban do his thing. You leave the guy alone and he'll produce.

Forancis...
Just like we discussed in another blog. The media runs with things. The days of the firing solely because of Auburn losses are over. Just ask Shula his firing was because of losses to all rivals and a few others. 26-23 over 4 years. I believe the fans are in full support of Saban. The talking heads at ESPN are the ones that like to make people think otherwise.

I think people are misunderstanding the love Bama fans have for there team. We are just tired of seeing good recruits come and bad plays being called and when a decent coach does come he decides to retire or leave in the middle of the night for A&M or pay for some stripers with University money before his first season starts. It's not all the school and the fans. We have had a rollercoaster with our coaches the last 10 years. Shula was let go because he was a great guy but not a good head coach.

Sorry for the run on... I am glad to see LSU and the SEC get more good recruits. What is good for one of us is good for all of us. Makes us stronger.

SouthFlaTideFan........i i agree the attendence at the orange bowl is terrible, and i must admit i do not go to often myself.i know miami got in that fight last yr and it was absolutely wrong .i was more talking about arrests in general which happens at every other school as well.miami just carries that rap as the bad boy team when fsu,uf,tenn and a few others are just as bad.i dont have it in me to like bama with saban there.lol.cant do it

August 2, 2007  08:34 PM ET

$EC is afraid to leave the South. They look good playing each other and beating up on little Swamp schools out of conference. Any decent team from any major conference could win 8 games with an $EC schedule.

August 2, 2007  08:43 PM ET

no way,u need to come back to reality

August 2, 2007  09:01 PM ET

Florida plays the following:
Western Kentucky
Troy
Tennessee
at Ole Miss
Auburn
at LSU
at Kentucky
Georgia
Vanderbilt
at South Carolina
Florida Atlantic
Florida State
It does not take a great team to beat up on the lame out of conference schedule and play 500 ball in the $EC. $EC being superior is nothing but myth.

*Nothing against Florida but they were the first $EC schedule that I looked at.
