07:19 AM ET 03.16 | Gilbert Arenas is back to writing in the wake of his suspension. "Rewind. I had a big gun collection. About four to five hundred guns. The guy I bought it from was in his seventies. He'd been collecting them for years. He had First World War guns. I bought his whole collection and added to it. I didn't need a license to keep them in my house. There was an officer who would come by and look out for them. The door was reinforced and a security system was set up. But when my kids came, I said, I can't have these guns around. We put everything in storage, but I kept four."

Four to Five hundred guns in Gilbert's home, and no need for a license?????

March 16, 2010  08:07 AM ET

Gilbert has enough guns to arm a small state militia.

Hope he doesn't live in Waco...

Insert your "we always knew Arenas was too much of a shooter" jokes here...

Four to five hundred guns and one idiot is a very dangerous mix.

You would think a guy who owned that many guns would know how to handle them.

March 16, 2010  08:20 AM ET

For the most part, he has clearly handled them well by keeping them in storage and locked up behind heavy security. If those parts are true, then he has actually been a fairly responsible gun owner overall...he just made one colossal mistake with his guns in bringing them into a NBA facility.

March 16, 2010  08:25 AM ET

He had them stockpiled so that when the zombies come he's all set....

This reminds me of that character in the movie Tremors, who lived on the hill and had an arsenal. As Fred Ward's character said "We can make fun of his lifestyle..." but when the big underground killer worms come, Gilbert will be ready :)

Aside from that, what's the big deal. It sounds like he keeps them in a responsible manner so not much of a story.

I would love to see the collection. I bet he doesnt even know what he has.

March 16, 2010  10:19 AM ET

On the other news, Investigators discovered that he was secretly trying to assemble NBA squad with several NBA players including Stephen Jackson, Ron Artest to fight terrorism.

He should shown Critt he was serious and brought a Gatling gun into the locker room.
