LT latest part of Jets' offensive evolution

08:59 AM ET 03.17 | LaDainian Tomlinson is part of a new phase with the Jets. With Mark Sanchez likely to throw more, and more accurately, this season, and with the potential return of the all-around threat Leon Washington from a serious leg injury, the Jets' offense is evolving. How Thomas Jones, a proud feature back, but one who faded down the stretch last season, fit into that evolution was evident when the Jets released him on March 5. They felt either he had started to decline or was not worth the money remaining on his contract. The Jets reportedly declined to match the two-year, roughly $5.8 million contract that Jones signed with Kansas City.

So LT is just a phase they're going through? I guess he's just a fad. Soon he goes the way of tie-dye and parachute pants.

Shonn Greene is more a part of their "evolution" than LT.

I always respected this guy but after choosing the Jets over the Vikings because he wants to go to a contender quote, I hope somebody Theismannizes him.

Nah, Russell is more like the mullet. He just lingers on for no apparent reason whatsoever.

I heard him quoted last night saying he got no indication that favre had any intention of playing in 2010. He said they spoke on the phone, but that had no bearing on his decision to choose the jets.

E.J. Henderson says he'll "definitely" play again
Posted by Mike Florio on March 17, 2010 9:06 AM ET
In a Sunday night game against the Cardinals last December, Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson suffered a grisly leg fracture, one that rivals the Joe Theismann moment from 1985.

More than three months later, Henderson is recovering -- and he vows to return.

"Oh, I'm definitely going to play football again," Henderson told Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I really don't think that's a question at this point barring some freak occurrence. But I'm definitely going to play football again. It's just a matter of will I be back in July or August."

He says that August is the goal, which would get him on the field in time for the start of training camp. Of course, he'll miss the entire offseason program; given, however, that the injury looked at the time like something that would end his career, the Vikings should be thrilled with the possibility that he'll be back by August.

Cheers! There's nothing like green beer for breakfast.

Maybe no LT and injuries to Henderson and Winfield down the stretch will help make favres decision for us. I would love to see him retire and the Vikings trade us their first rounder for mcnabb.

The Jets are going to be awesome this year. It has been announced that they get to play on Thanksgiving Night. Nothing could be better. A turkey leg in one hand, cold beer in the other watch the Jets destroy an opponent. The world must be coming to an end.

LT gives the Jets the option to run those screens that Thomas Jones just couldn't do!
Good pick up for the Jets.
