Tiger Woods in no need of tune-up for Masters

07:47 AM ET 03.18 | If you want to keep your money, don't bet against Tiger Woods. Conventional wisdom says he should have a tune-up tournament before arriving at Augusta National. Conventional wisdom says he should get the first press conference, the first public appearance, the first exposure to a gallery and the first competitive swings out of the way at, say, Bay Hill, before playing in the year's first major. But there's really never been anything conventional about Woods when it comes to playing golf. So like a boxing champion refusing a tune-up fight after a long layoff, Woods has decided to go straight to the heavyweight battle: The Masters.
