Francies kicked off Beavers' squad
Two days before the start of preseason football practice, Oregon State coach Mike Riley did some addition and subtraction with his roster. A key member of the secondary -- senior cornerback Coye Francies -- is gone for good. Dismissed, Riley said, "for violation of team rules." Francies was Keenan Lewis' backup at left cornerback and also one of the team's better kick returners."I thought of Coye as a starter, I really did," Riley said Wednesday. "I thought of him as a third starting corner and capable of a lot of things. . . . Yes, we are concerned about that."
