Terrell Davis should be in the Hall

Let's start banging down the doors to the Pro Football Hall of Fame for Terrell Davis. Anybody who votes to keep him out does not know the game. Ask yourself this: Needing 3 yards to move the chains on third down in the tense, final minutes of a tied game, who ya gonna call to carry the rock? The No. 5 worn by Paul Hornung, given a Hall pass only because he appeared golden when reflected in the glory of the Green Bay Packers dynasty? Or the No. 30 on the sturdy back of T.D., who twice carried the Broncos to the NFL championship? There's not even a doubt which of the two running backs Vince Lombardi would have picked to run to daylight.

Hell YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TD is tha MAN!

He should be in the Hall.. The Guy was a great running back.

August 2, 2007  01:15 PM ET

YES......I am from Denver and a huge TD fan. TD and Elway rocked!

August 2, 2007  01:52 PM ET

Wow, that is a terribly written article. Did a paid, college educated journalist actually write that and not intend for it to be satire? "Who ya gonna call?"

He should not be in the HoF for 3 good seasons (one great) and one average one, with 3 more forgettable ones.

August 2, 2007  02:14 PM ET

If Art Monk's 16 seasons and 13,783 yds cannot get him into the Hall, how can they justify Terrell's 7 season 8,747 yard career?? The HOF is becoming a joke anymore when role models like Michael Irving are voted in. When does Ryan Leaf become eligible??

August 2, 2007  02:48 PM ET

The #s put up by TD in such a short time are unrivaled. He's one of what, 3 guys(?) to rush for 2000 yards in a season, a league MVP, a Super Bowl MVP, 2 time Super Bowl Champ. League Rushing leader multiple times. I know we had Emitt Smith and BArry Sanders, but I personally think that Terrel Davis was the best back of our time

August 2, 2007  02:48 PM ET

and I'll throwdown with anyone who cares to argue about it!

August 2, 2007  03:22 PM ET

Hell yea TD deserves to be in. If not for the injury there is no question he would be challenging for the all-time rushing record right now. Give him his due. I know that injury is no excuse for putting someone in but he had a great career beforhis injury to make him eligible. PUT HIM IN!!!!

August 2, 2007  03:54 PM ET

Boring! A biased article from the Denver Post! The real star of this show is the Denver O-line. That team plugged in RB's and they all shined. TD is over hyped.

August 2, 2007  05:48 PM ET

Your and idiot cardinals he would have been great behind 90% of the o-lines in the NFL

August 2, 2007  06:06 PM ET

John Elway doesn't get a single Super Bowl win without Terrell Davis.

August 2, 2007  06:55 PM ET

TD was always underrated..no one realized how great of a player he was until after he left....he should be in the hall of fame....if it werent for the injuries....and to mental ray, michael irvin was a great player quit hating!!!

August 2, 2007  09:26 PM ET

He goes in after Art Monk goes in!

August 2, 2007  10:45 PM ET

2003 yards in a seaon, Superbowl MVP and he didn't even play the second quarter, league MVP, two superbowl rings, one of the highest yards per game average. No question, Hall of Famer.

August 2, 2007  10:55 PM ET

Hm, the article seems VERY biased toward the Broncos...I wonder why?

HM..........maybe becuase it is by the DENVER POST!!!!

He doesn't deserve to be.......at least not until ALL the guys in front of him get in who should have been in years ago...

August 3, 2007  01:25 AM ET

Terrell makes it in, then you have to take a look at Ricky Waters for the HOF. If he is going to go in, it better be soon, before people start forgetting about him. Even the major sportsguys are debating his entry because of the length of his career. It does not help the integrity of the HOF. And if I needed 3 yards, I'd want Ironhead in my backfield. RIP

August 3, 2007  02:24 AM ET

Ironhead, definitely a better choice in short yardage than Davis...MOST definitely...

August 3, 2007  05:28 AM ET

Mark Kiszla and the Denver Post readers will get no sympathy from me. If the HOF voters won't induct Art Monk then I don't think TD has a chance. HOF voting is a complete joke and I think anybody with more than 1 brain cell can figure that out.

No arguments against the fact that Art Monk should be in the Hall. I really thought this past season would be the one for him - and I still feel they should have pushed Irvin back another year to let Monk in this year. But that doesn't take away from the fact that T.D. deserves to be there as well. It was a short run, I admit, but none have done as well as he did in that kind of timeline...and injury should not de-rail what would surely have been a HOF career. Time in the league? Nothing compared to his accomplishments. Would you say Tom Brady doesn't deserve to be in the Hall if he retired this year?
