10:25 AM ET 08.04 | A well-placed source at Hendrick Motorsports said it will be three to six more weeks before the 2008 sponsorship package for Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will be announced. "There are a lot of details to deal with," the source said. Earnhardt is leaving details of the sponsor agreement to his sister and business manager, Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, and his new boss.

The number is still the sticking point? I hope he just moves on and picks a new number (08, 28, 58, 68, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 89, & 98 are all available) and starts a new. I heard the main sponsor will be Diet Pepsi Max with National Guard with the associate sponsors of Adidas & Sony. There will be a bunch of paint schemes to finalize and deals to sign for clothing and diecast cars.

What "dew" you think of a rumored Mt.Dew Code Red deal. This would be awesome seeing that I love Code Red and hey we could still be called "The Red Nation" lol hahaha

My guess is that the primary sponsor will be Pepsi and that he'll run multiple paint schemes with all of the different Pepsi brands (including Mountain Dew). They may even throw in a couple of races with Adidas and Sony as the primaries.
With all of the different products that those three have he could end up with a different paint scheme for every race.
