Downplaying expectations, Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said before camp that receiver Ted Ginn's initial focus will be on the return game. But after watching the first-rounder in camp, several Dolphins players are excited about what he'll do offensively as a rookie. At the least, Ginn figures to begin the season playing in four-receiver sets, barring something unforeseen.

Can you guys try to win 8 games for me this year.....PLEASE!!!

What report are you reading to make this posting. Ginn has beeen one of the players getting the most boo's in practice by fans. He dropped a TD catch last night and a punt. He is still learning though and that is a positive. Its the entire crop of young guys that the vets are excited over.

August 8, 2007  09:22 AM ET

The fans like Ginn in Miami? They still haven't forgiven the fins for drafting him. and the fact he's still not 100% isn't helping.

August 8, 2007  09:50 AM ET

The first time Ginn gets assaulted by Ray Lewis in the flat, he'll go back to the track team.

August 8, 2007  10:08 AM ET

He's gonna make some plays, but he will never justify the 9th pick.

August 8, 2007  10:49 AM ET

Tedd Ginn, Jr. is a future NFL Hall of Famer. some of you have no idea what Ginn is all about. When the ball is in his hands, he WILL be the most dangerours person in the entire NFL. If you are a true Dolphin fan, stop bashing him, just wait unti he gets in the game and gets a ball and the scales will come off your eyes.

August 8, 2007  11:00 AM ET

uhh i think you people have reading comprehension problems. The Dolphin PLAYERS, you know, the ones who matter, are excited.

August 8, 2007  11:07 AM ET

Good. I am glad. Prove everyone wrong and just make plays. The fact is that the Dolphins needed a Young Burner at Wideout. It may have not been the Most Glaring need, but it will certainly look good in the future.

PW,

Ginn is 100% healthy. I dunno were some of you people get your information from but the guy wouldn't be practicing if he was anything less than 100%. And as far as fans booing Ginn, what practice was that. I'm at all the night practices and I never hear booing from anyone. I think the guy who said that was the only on booing and has to drag the rest of the Dolfans down with him so he doesn't look like a complete boob.

August 8, 2007  11:16 AM ET

You know what...I want all the doubters to come back to these forums and send me an e-mail mid-season, when Ginn is lighting up the league and making everyone who doubted him look like the idiot's you all are. I just can't understand how a kid goes from running the opening kick off in the 2nd biggest stage on earth, next to the Super Bowl, to being written off simply because he hurt his foot and didn't want to risk further injury and hurt his draft status. The kid is a human highlight reel. Have all you critical **** even bothered to google the Ginn highlight Reel. It's nothing but touchdown after touchdown, after amazing catch and run, after catch and run. I think denial is running wild in these forums as of late, and maybe some jealousy to top it off...HAHA! The Dolphins might have actually taken the first few steps to rising to greatness once more.

Get 'em Fast Joe!

August 8, 2007  11:28 AM ET

TELL EM FAST JOE, TELL EM!!! I LUV IT, DOLPHINS ARE GONNA BE NICE THIS YEAR!!!

August 8, 2007  12:25 PM ET

Why do teams draft a quality WR, go through all the problems signing him, go through all the hard work getting him ready for camp, then use him to return kickoffs?? Why don't they just stick him in traffic. Let someone else return it out to the 23 yard line.

August 8, 2007  12:33 PM ET

True Ray. I think Ginn will be a force in a couple years. He'll be decent his first two as he adjusts but he was amazing at Ohio State, so I don't see him doing worse in the League. He has hands, speed, and knowledge of football, the right combo for a solid WR.

August 8, 2007  12:35 PM ET

oxi, you might be correct about his talent. but who will throw him the ball so he can reach 10000 yards receiving during that hall of fame career?

being a longtime osu fan, i know he's talented.

but fins fans are going to awhile before they forgive ginn for being drafted with the #9 pick, when there's nobody to throw him the ball.

August 8, 2007  12:51 PM ET

they'll forgive him if Quinn turns out a bust.

August 8, 2007  01:08 PM ET

He will be a decent return man for a bit. But like Dante Hall before him, teams will figure him out and neutralize him. He will however never be a standout WR in the league.

August 8, 2007  01:54 PM ET

Second biggest stage on Earth next to the Super Bowl? Nobody outside of the U.S. watches the Super Bowl except for military personnel, embassy personnel, and expats. Ever hear of the World Cup?

August 8, 2007  02:06 PM ET

Fast Joe - will you send us a email at midseason if Ginn isn't lighting up the league?

August 8, 2007  02:13 PM ET

Jazinho, I think that's the point, World Cup first, Super Bowl second (his point not mine, is the Olympics a bigger stage?)

pw, go look up John Beck. He has been most impressive for a rook so far, perfect for Cameron's system.

Regarding quinn, would you guys do some research and stop listening to the gospel of Kiper. Quinn's pre-draft tutor, Terry Shea, worked with quinn for four months or so before the draft, and was hired as Miami's QB coach. You don't think he had input on the draft choice? If Quinn was that good, Miami would have drafted him. He isn't, and Shea most likely let Miami know that.
