08:06 AM ET 04.16 | UW wanted to get bigger, and did so by signing Aziz N'Diaye, a 7-footer from Dakar, Senegal. Washington, which had just one scholarship player 6-9 or taller on its roster, overcame its lack of height to win the Pac-10 tournament title and advance to the Sweet 16 last season. Still, the Huskies (26-10) were bounced from the NCAA tournament by West Virginia, which used a dominant front line to claim a 69-56 victory. "When you play in the NCAA tournament and continue to advance, the one thing you see more and more of is size," Romar said in a statement released by UW. "Aziz is a 7-footer and definitely fills a need there. At the same time, he is very athletic and can get up and down the court."
