The rumored waiver-wire trade talks between the Cubs and White Sox over Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik are dead, and, in fact, never had much of a pulse in the first place. One source suggested the chances were never better than 'one in a thousand' from the outset

the pitching won them a W.S. Having a good closer won them a W.S. Pod had a good yr,but he was hardly the sole reason. Lee went on to bigger paydays,with big numbers with worse teams.

pods has speed and was healthy most of 2005 which led to him getiting on base and stealing bases. which enabled "ozzie ball" to happen. pods is was an important piece to the 2005 WS puzzle. The pitching wouldnt have won games unless guys like pods reached base and stole a base and then scoring on singles from second. pods was much more important to the white sox in 2005 than carlos lee would have been. lee is a great power hitter. the sox already had power hitters in konerko and dye. they needed speed and a guy that would get on base a lot, which they got in pods.
