A dark horse in the Michael Floyd recruiting sweepstakes has become Ohio State, which is accelerating its pursuit of the Cretin-Derham Hall (Minn.) senior wide receiver.

Why are they recruiting in Minn?? How about takin a recriuting trip to Florida or California for once, and gettin some speed...

August 12, 2007  11:11 AM ET

Santonio Holmes was from florida and so was one of their running backs from a couple of years ago.

James Laurinaitis is from Minnesota. It's not like that's a state devoid of talent. It may have fewer recruits than California or Florida, but it has produced some great players.

OSU has plenty of speed. Obviously more is better, but one game of laziness does not mean the team is slow. Remember against Miami five years ago. All the talk was how fast Miami was and how slow OSU was and OSU won. And also, just because he's from Minn. doesn't mean he's slow.

Or how about Texas as well as CA & Florida??

Same high school as Chris Weinke went to. Pull some strings Chris!

Go NOLES!!!

If only we had a qb to throw him the ball

August 13, 2007  10:04 AM ET

Remember the name Antonio Henton!! He will be the Ohio State QB sooner than later. Also do not forget that OSU leads for the #1 QB prospect in the country. Charlie come on now!

He must really like the Outback Bowl.

August 14, 2007  10:53 AM ET

You are Ignorant! The Buckeyes have not been to the Outback Bowl (big ten #3) since 2001. Since then OSU has been to a BCS Bowl every year except 2005 when they burried Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl.

IF you are going to make a statement at least know what the heck you are talking about.

August 14, 2007  11:17 AM ET

If knowing what you're talking about was a requirement for these boards, there wouldn't be many people posting

August 15, 2007  05:10 PM ET

41-14; that's what I'm talking about.

Tressell runs a dirty program. Why else would recruits go to that dump Columbus. They get paid!!!

August 21, 2007  01:58 PM ET

yep osu sucks, they're all criminals and thugs and tressell covers it all up, oh and florida could beat the bears, does that sound about right? columbus is a crime capital of the country. its either uf or um fans always talkin that crap....could the recruits come for the top notch facilities or the several bcs games or maybe the chance to play in front of great fans then go pro? yeah cbus sucks and osu is the creator of all that is evil in sports...you guys nailed it.

Where they need to recruit is down in Texas and Louisiana where football is religion down here. I went to a high school game last night and powerhouse Smithson Valley ranked Top 20 in the nation was playing some scrub team and there were over 20,000 people for it. Texas has the talent and the speed Ohio State needs.
