Another controversy for Husker?
Posted: Monday August 13, 2007 07:15AM ET
As he enters the final season of his collegiate football career, Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller finds his current situation very similar to the one he was in near the end of last summer: in a competition for the starter's job. This time he is competing with junior Joe Ganz. But the last thing Keller wants is a repeat of the way things unfolded last summer, when he was in the hunt for the starting job at Arizona State. Nebraska coach Bill Callahan repeatedly has said he will not name a starter until the week before the season opener Sept. 1 against Nevada.

Report Offensive CommentKeller is the starter. Don't buy in to Callahan's CoachSpeak. Having watched Keller and Ganz side-by-side there is very little comparison. All Callahan is trying to do is keep Keller from getting lazy. Keller will be announced two weeks from today, bank it.

Report Offensive Commentaw yeah, if nebraska bends him over like this - the dude needs to just line up at wideout, there's more than just one of those on the field.
If you transfer, and sit a whole season- just to get out of the qb competition your in, you better blve the school you choose to go to made a promise somewhere in there that you would be the starter.
If he ends up on the bench, they better put him on sui@ide watch. Not good..

Report Offensive CommentKeller transferred to Nebraska because he was guaranteed the starting job. There is no QB controversy.

Report Offensive CommentAny good coach will keep the competition open, just to be sure it is fair and that they both keep their edge. But Keller will be the QB, and he better win, for Callaghan's sake. It kills me how the papers say the Huskers record has improved the last 3 years in a row......duh ! His first year there he killed every winning tradition that storied team had. I am shocked and baffled as to how he has not been fired yet. Huskers were ALWAYS in the hunt for the National Title, and now......happy to be ranked 20th to start the year ? What a tumble my beloved program has taken !
