Tigers-Pirates deal not dead

Shortstop Jack Wilson has cleared waivers, a bold sign that the Pirates' trade talks with Detroit are not dormant. All players on a 40-man roster must clear waivers to be dealt after the July 31 deadline. Another sign: The Pirates have had a scout in Cleveland watching the Tigers-Indians series, including the Wednesday game when Jair Jurrjens -- a prospect mentioned in initial talks -- made a fine major-league debut by limiting Cleveland to four runs in seven innings.

Well, this should go good.... the Pirates sent a Pirate scout. Genius, considering how incredible the Pirates farm system is at the moment.

Man it's been a long time since the Pirates were good. Hopefully their moves will improve this.

don't get your hopes up Pittsburgh, they aren't trading Jurrjens for Wilson...maybe another prospect but not that one

How'd you like to cut in on these babes?

Jurrjens is now on the Tigers 40-man - no way he clears waivers and Tigers won't "need" Wilson in the off-season. Once again, the Bucs have wasted any advantage they may have had.

jurrjens will clear waivers and here is why the same reason jack cleared because all other teams see a deal is on the table and GMs wont try to break that up because every GM wants to be friendly with a consistent seller like pirates....they never know who they might need from pgh in the coming years
