It's too bad that he might be going . . . . . . he'd only help a team win a few games . . . . .

Belfour's best days are a few years behind him. He needs to move on in life. No competitive team wants an OLD goalie with diminished abilities. He is an EXPENSIVE backup!

Belfour, Belfour , belfour.....

Time to let it go..... I'm sure that the Swedish meatballs are tempting but come on.... it is time to be honest. You were once a great goalie and now you just look like an old, oversized goalie pad!

All, I am saying is give retirement a chance!

August 19, 2007  02:28 PM ET

It ain't the NHL but it beats retirement, even if it is in Sweeden. Maybe he'll even learn to like fish patties.

I realize that you know nothing about the Swedish team or Sweden in general. The Swedish team " Leksand " has a young upcoming goalie, allthough he is good, he is not good enough to take Leksand back 2 the first division, This is were Belfour comes in, hes routine combined with the fact the very mention of his name scares every single forward in Sweden, makes him worth every dime.

Stick a fork in him...

The Eagle!!!!!

August 20, 2007  12:32 PM ET

The Eagle has landed! (Hopefully hard enough to stay grounded for good. He's done!)

August 20, 2007  02:21 PM ET

Those Swedish cops don't know what they're in for once Belfour starts drinking. Look out!

August 20, 2007  03:59 PM ET

I really expected this article to be about some fancy back doctor who would do yet ANOTHER back surgery on this guy. He's done. Now the Swedish league wants to start being the landing pad for old washed up NHLers not good enough for the Show anymore? Let them go ahead, as far as I am concerned...as long as they don't think that Belfour is the best we have to offer, because I think a Shooter Tutor could stop more pucks nowadays

August 21, 2007  08:42 AM ET

I must be old. I think of Belfour as a Blackhawk, not former Florida...

August 21, 2007  11:08 AM ET

What's the legal drinking age in Sweden? 46, right?
He's gonna get it for underage drinking there...

August 21, 2007  09:28 PM ET

1,000,000,000 kronas if you let me go ocifer. Sweden is not ready for this guy

August 22, 2007  05:23 PM ET

uuuhhhmmm ! YA!! vood Ju like dem wit zome sveedish meatballz YA? orza good bar fight ja? . . .LOL . . .sorry. . .I just had to do it . . . .

Yes it may be true that "The Eagle" Has had his best years behind him, but I would not be surprised if he shows a few of those younger goalies a thing or to. Give Eddie a chance people, hwe may just surprise us all.
