Reserve safety Greg Wesley, a starter for the last seven seasons, could be traded soon to the Chiefs' opening-day opponent, the Houston Texans. The Chiefs had talked to the Denver Broncos about a deal involving Wesley, but the Chiefs were hesitant about sending him to a team they will play twice this season.

What dont the texans need??...how about looking for some O line help

August 19, 2007  05:55 PM ET

texans need all the help they can get

August 19, 2007  08:24 PM ET

The Texans have yet to yield a sack by the first and second string this season our line is better than you think! Colts fan, lets tak on 9/23 you see how little if any we need. Our secondary has like 4 preseason picks

dbrude, I'm from houston and I'm just as excited about our season as you, but i'm stayin skeptical. We look good now, but wait until opposing coaches start puttin together real packages for us, and players start to play multiple downs for us. We need o-line, and that is the bottom line. Yea, we look good for the first part of our preseason games, but how will the season affect they're play?

Also, I don't wanna take on another safety's contract right now. We need to prove first that our dline can produce pressure consistently in order for our safety's to take advantage. Next year we need to pick up o-line early, and secondary after. Our defense the second half of the season was pretty solid so we can afford to skip out a little if they stick with it. Waiting patiently for the o-line's performance.

Go Texans!

their* not they're

DK we cannot wait to upgrade Db's. It has been a weak point since we let Aaron Glenn get away. The secondary has been ignored more than the o-line. Finally, at least there is some movement there. I dunno how its going to shake out, as we still dont have alot of depth there.

D brude what the hell are u talking about, the colts defense is horrific, everyone knows the offense is the colts defense....and u guys rewarded freeney for a rookie performance...since his pay increase how many sacks does he have....thats what I thought. meanwhile the Texans are improving, we still have some additions we need to plug in on defense, however it is nice to c that we are trying to get better, not like the colts pretending we are better than we really are defensively. do colts fan realize that brady damn near ruining your chances last year for a superbowl, new england ran circles around the indy d....opening prediction texans beat indy twice this year

August 21, 2007  09:04 AM ET

Ruff can you not read, I am stating the colts d sucks and the Texans are the bomb.

August 21, 2007  09:37 AM ET

A good D-line can make the secondary behind them look better...get to the QB quicker, and you don't have to cover as long...we addressed the D-line (again) in the draft. Let's see how it works out before grabbing everyone else's also-rans...

And I don't put much stock in pre-season stats, the Saints stunk last year in the preseason while the Raiders went 4-1...let's put 1st teamers against 1st teamers when the money is on the line (and I am not talking about the $800 per week they get during pre-season)

you heard it here 1st 29-10
Texans and either Jacoby or mathis will score on a return

over the cowgirls

August 22, 2007  03:47 PM ET

I second that Dave. Our WR look good. Lets just hope other teams notice that and spread around the DB's. Andre gets tired carrying 2 of them all day.

August 24, 2007  05:01 PM ET

Take Wesley please........he is one of the last remnants of the crappiest defenses in KC history

Lets just see how the Texans franchise QB plays this year.
