A spokesman for Jeff Gordon said the NASCAR driver has not been signed to appear on the upcoming season of Donald Trump's "The Apprentice," denying a report in the New York Post. The paper's gossip site, Page Six, wrote that Trump had signed numerous stars for the NBC show, including Gordon, Pete Rose, George Foreman, Jim Cramer, Carmen Electra, Joan Rivers, Naomi Judd, Kimora Lee Simmons and Tony Hawk.

Whew, not signed, not news. Stay away from his hair Jeff.

August 23, 2007  09:13 AM ET

I can see Pete Rose doing this but not Gordon. Your to big of a star to do this Jeff.

August 23, 2007  09:34 AM ET

I think NASCAR drivers have a little more class than having to stoop to a level of a "reality" tv show. I personally like watching the apprentice, however not the idea of using people who already get paid millions$$$$. Go back to the original show and give normal people a real shot at it.

Thanks Jeff for NOT signing.........

You'll doubtlessly be pleased to know that I have, in the light of recent domestic devolpments, decided to become a Trappist Monk.

I kind of dig the outfits.

Keep it lively.

And never take a shower with an orangutan.

Look at the list of hasbeens that is going to appear. Jeff Gordon has more class than to go on some phoney show like the apprentice. Just what he needs to be....Trumps goofer for a year.

August 23, 2007  11:25 AM ET

Agreed!

August 23, 2007  11:47 AM ET

To all the people above,,, You guys have class also

Andy

Isn't that phrase trademarked? You better watch out or Trump will sue you!!!

Interesting Fact

Aug. 26, 1978Date that Bristol Motor Speedway held its first race under the lights, the Volunteer 500 won by Cale Yarborough. Benny Parsons was second (15 seconds behind), the only other driver on the lead lap. Saturday's green flag will mark the 30th night race at Bristol.
Fun Fact

18,000Seating capacity for the first NASCAR race held at Bristol on July 30, 1961. The seating capacity now is advertised at 160,000, making a sold-out race the fourth-largest city in Tennessee behind Memphis (650,100), Nashville (545,524) and Knoxville (173,890).

Jeff would be better suited for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy

August 23, 2007  02:28 PM ET

I never really equated Nascar drivers with class. Nascar fans? Oh yeah, all class.

August 23, 2007  02:28 PM ET

Lower class.

August 23, 2007  03:35 PM ET

Is roamer and jazinho the same person?

August 23, 2007  04:44 PM ET

They date and live in the van as showed. Isnt there a category for these guys? Losers with bad sacarsm humor?

August 23, 2007  05:34 PM ET

look now we know who stole Mr."t"'s van......from the Ateam....yeah right...I think they may be related ......roamer and jazwhoever....

August 23, 2007  05:37 PM ET

I dont understand why these pea brain idiots pesist in trying to bash Nascar. You guys really need to find something better to do with your time.

August 23, 2007  05:54 PM ET

Jaz or **** whatever lives in the van down by the river. He lives on bbq toast and drinks generic juice boxes. His favorite sport is female volleyball......he has a large Playboy collection with many missing pages.

August 23, 2007  07:29 PM ET

I'm not roamer.

I live in the A-Team van down by the river, by the way. I don't know what BBQ toast is exactly. I don't drink juice boxes either, though I find them enjoyable. I love watching women playing volleyball at the beach. You would too. (I live in Brazil and people love volleyball here). I haven't had a Playboy since I got a computer many years ago, so there aren't any pages to rip out. But I do have some bookmarks. Maybe that's the same.

I'm yanking your guys' chain. I used to go to Wall Racetrack in N.J., drink beer, and watch the local yokels race around in circles and crash and then later fight. Racing is not without it's charm. But let's take it easy it with the "class" business. Not the first word that comes up in word association with "NASCAR".

August 23, 2007  07:40 PM ET

I think roamer and dannyjoe are the same jackcrack.
NASCAR crew, Jazinho is an alright dude.. He's my bud in the Big East. I think if he could get his nose out of the Latino Mamis down in Brazil he'd understand what NASCAR is all about..

August 23, 2007  08:02 PM ET

Thanks Fletch. I'm just joking around. When I was a kid in the 80's I was a big Bill Elliot fan and had a bunch of model cars and all that. I've just lost touch with the sport and it seems like there is a lot of drama around the sport. Like a Brazilian soap opera. Anything that gets big gets scrutinized excessively.

In fact, here in Brazil Stock Car racing is very popular. Brazilian Stock Car racing. It's on road courses not on ovals. They drive Opels but in Brazil they are badged as Chevys. They all get their motors from the same manufacturer and their cars are nearly identical. It's races are broadcast on free TV. Not that anyone asked. Just a little fact.
