Maryland names starting QB

Maryland junior Jordan Steffy today was named the Terps' starting quarterback for 2007, coach Ralph Friedgen said. Friedgen said Steffy "widened the gap" between he and Florida transfer Josh Portis, who will be the backup. "I think Jordan is ahead," Friedgen said. "I think he has been ahead since the spring."
