Gamecocks strong safety Emanuel Cook was suspended from the university Friday after authorities arrested Cook and another student on gun charges Thursday night on campus."Anytime you've got a gun in your hand, you're out of here. And I agree with that," coach Steve Spurrier said. "Obviously, we're hoping the circumstances will come forward that he didn't know exactly what he was doing and it wasn't his."

Spurrier's comments are interesting; almost as if they're given with a sort of 'wink wink, nudge nudge' kind of delivery.

I wouldn't be surprised, depending on how far down the depth chart the player is, if the guy doesn't magically return to the team after releasing a statement that says something to the effect of, "Obviously, I'm coming forward to say that the circumstances are that I didn't know what I was doing, and that the gun wasn't mine."
