NASCAR: Wrong call on Busch

Some racers say that drivers create their own luck, but Kyle Busch didn't create his bad luck in the Food City 250 Friday night at Bristol Motor Speedway. NASCAR admitted that it made the wrong call when it ruled that Busch's car hit the orange box on the pit-road commitment line before deciding not to pit. The official watching the commitment line twice told NASCAR race control that Busch, who had led 24 laps in the race, hit the box, which is considered part of the commitment line at Bristol. NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Director David Hoots told the drivers in their pre-race meeting Sunday that the replay system malfunctioned.

EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES! How convenient "the replay malfunctioned" thats almost as bad as "I thought I seen trash on the track", heres your YELLOW ! Okay, its the first mistake Nascar has ever made,or like drflavio said its the first one they admitted to. so do we dog them for it so they will do something about it or let it slide?

That messed up his chances of winning. Not that I am a big KB fan but like you said Foxman how convenient that their replay system malfunctioned. What those idiots should have done was wait until they got is working properly before they went about penalizing KB; its not like they were gonna run out of laps.

Suppose it was a different situation and the championship cup was on the line. What then? These guys really need to figure out what they are going to enforce on the track because they are basically making uninformed decisions.

Oh well, **** happens.

Hey nascarzorin,
I agree with ya 1000%. These kinds of screwups should not be happening considering the tape was replayed several times by the ESPN. To tell someone, "Oh sorry we made a mistake...we'll do better next time," isn't good enough considering all the technology that is available AND USED by NASCAR. No driver on a race course deserves that kinda of a screwing by a santioning body.

They need a camera that is always focused on commitment line so NASCAR has that reply to review every time, not having to rely on system malfunction, aka we didnt have a camera shot so we had to rely on our official, o-freakin-oops
