Did Tiger betray FedEx Cup?

Tiger Woods' decision to bypass Westchester was viewed as the highest form of betrayal, because it either indicates that $10 million isn't enough to entice earth's richest athlete to play, or it shows that Woods believes he's so vastly superior to the field that he can spot the rest of the world a tournament's worth of points and still win the playoff.

The Post is such a rag! Why start crap when there's no real crap to start with? If he plays every event, the Post would say he's a money-grubbing greedy player. If he sits out an event or two, he's betraying the game. Congrats Post ... you're almost at National Inquirer level! Keep striving for the bottom!

a well-rested tiger is better than a fatigued one that won't get you ratings.

Tiger can win it all no doubt and he can play whenever he wants.Who is this beckam?Tiger has already proven himself time and time again. It needs no explanation whatsoever!

Actually Tiger can spot the rest of the world a tournaments worth of points and still win. Tiger is the ultimate professional and if he felt he needed a break, you can bet he did.But i disagree with you Junior, i think National Inquirer level is far to nice.Ive read better articles on bathroom walls than some of the Posts crap.(no pun intended)

Cheesy Texan is right on, couldnt have said it better myself. These writers need to actually think before the post these stories.

August 26, 2007  07:33 PM ET

I thought writers were supposed to be creative, can' t this particular writer write about something more interesting? This news is so yesterday and truthfully meaningless. Let the guy rest and be with his family already.

Of course Tiger is a good guy. Look at the family he was raised in. He had great parents. He is that superior that he can spot the group a tournament and still win.

August 26, 2007  09:12 PM ET

Now that the first playoff match is over it sure looks like Tiger knew what he was doing...He's in fourth place behind the ever dangerous Steve Stricker.

August 26, 2007  09:37 PM ET

Well...isn't it kind of insulting to him as a player that they are basically changing the format to force him to play tournaments he probably wouldn't otherwise? Basically its a giant ratings ploy to make money from touraments nobody would watch otherwise because all the majors are over and Tiger usually has the money title in the bag.

The only insult is that the PGA is acting like this tourament nonsense really matters or has any prestige whatsoever. The day they decide to change the game based on LOVE for golf and not to line their pockets they can complain about Tiger not showing up. He has done more for golf than any of the suits that decided to create this nonsense.

This posting is stupid, I looked at the NY post for the last few days, and I didn't see this. Makes me wonder who is really writing this.

August 28, 2007  02:08 AM ET

I think that I am lucky to be able to see the best player in the history of golf, Tiger Woods, ply his craft during the best years of his career. And I hope that career lasts a whole lot longer. Woods is in a class that includes only Jack Nicklaus. The FedEx Cup has been created to keep fan interest after the "major season," when it traditionally falls off. If Woods wants to play, when Woods wants to play, IN ANY TOURNAMENT, is his decision.

You hit it on the head cheesy texan. Tiger IS so vastly superior that these rags try to find or even make up some controversy to stir up the Tiger haters. They'll be so desperate soon that they'll have only his wardrobe to criticize. Pretty pathetic really. However,I can always use the NY post to line the catbox with.
BTW, I hail from the great state of Texas too.
