The Timberwolves report that they have heard from fewer than 30 season-ticket holders who said they would drop their seats because of the trade of Kevin Garnett to the Celtics. The Wolves are trying to get them to reconsider.

are there really t-wolves fans in mini?! i thought only kevin garnett fans...

August 26, 2007  10:05 AM ET

True fans will not leave. Only fake fans will leave since they liked Garnett and not the team. The same thing happened when Jordan left the Bulls and the Wizards.

If I was the season ticket holders I'd want my money back too. Thats like saying Jordan was going to be here for 3 more year then you by your tickets then they trade him for a bunch for draft picks and lower level players.

Considering there are 10,000 lakes in Minnesota there are a lot of places for fans to jump ship. They will.

August 26, 2007  12:09 PM ET

Of course the'll watch.Nothing is gonna change and their used to losing.Nothing will change!!

August 26, 2007  12:57 PM ET

wow good for you minnesota. got any real nba news for us?

August 26, 2007  02:41 PM ET

Can't jump ship if the ship already sank.

August 26, 2007  02:57 PM ET

I haven't dumped the Pacers yet. What a mess.

August 26, 2007  03:30 PM ET

i love your picture someone who can actually spell. 9ers on their way up =)

August 26, 2007  03:37 PM ET

That is my hope. They were my #1 team since before the colts came to town. I still follow them. I think they will make a big jump this year. :)

August 26, 2007  04:19 PM ET

Well if jordan won championships and had the cast and coach around him. The article says less people are jumping ship which means just as many people are tired of the Kevin Garnett with no help year after year experiment. They have young good talent now and salary cap room so now people can actually go to the water cooler in the morning and say who they should trade for, which was impossible the last 3 years. Now all they need is a real coach and to get rid of Ricky Avis, no D.

There are fair weather fans everywhere, don't kid yourself; even in Green ****.

August 26, 2007  04:21 PM ET

I meant Jordan did have a cast and championships, and I typed Green Bay at the end, not sure what I typed. Oh well, might as well be a swear word.

August 26, 2007  04:51 PM ET

At least they can lose with hope. Why lose and know that next season you have no capspace to sign or no draft picks. Yeah and actually I think that if they make a few more trades they'll be a decent lottery team. Meaning they'll get enough wins to keep the fans watching and a nice pick for next season with lots of cap space.

Jumping ship isn't as encouraging AS new season tickets holders signing up!!! Obviously the wolves management is very defensive (and stupid if I might add). There prolly isn't much else to do in MN during winter time I guess, so be happy McHale and co. Job well done screwing up a potentially great 10 yrs of KG in MN!!

August 26, 2007  08:06 PM ET

As much as we love KG, any real Wolves fan knows that we weren't going to go anywhere by keeping him on the roster. At least KG has a chance to make the finals now with the Celts (and probably get swept by a Western conference team) and we have a chance to build a solid team from the ground up rather than having to put all your hopes on one player. I for one am actually excited to go to games to see a new beginning rather than slogging through another season of the same thing.

August 26, 2007  08:38 PM ET

Shoot, they should be happy that their money is not all going to one guy, and is instead being dispursed the way a team should do it.

August 26, 2007  08:42 PM ET

They've heard from fewer than 30 season-ticket holders. That's all 30.

August 27, 2007  05:26 AM ET

if they do decide to "jump ship", i'd understand them. the one who was once seen as their franchise player has gone off in an opposite direction (east, more specifically), without a credible (and dependable, and equally-entertaining) replacement - i don't blame them.

the management has got to give their fans something to believe in. their support will be there in the first of the season, but once losses start piling in, there'll bound to be more empty seats in the house...

August 27, 2007  09:01 AM ET

What they're not telling you is that there were only 35 season ticket holders in Minny. LOL

What else is there to do in Minnesota?
