The coaches on the "scalding seat" in that article are from programs like Mississippi state, duke, syracuse, memphis, and arizona. Most of those schools were pretty bad before their coaches got there. Have a little patience people, or have a lot of patience. Every school can't be an USC.

Arizona is competing for California recruits as well as some kids in AZ...they can't compete with SC, Cal ,UCLA and maybe one of the Oregon schools for some of the better football players 'cause who wants to go to a program that still seems as if they are building?

Mike Stoops got the job based on his great teams at OU while working with his brother. He has the Wildcats gaining respect within the Pac 10. He also, had the Cats playing USC tough over the last couple of years. He will surprise a lot of people outside the Pac 10 with a strong season this year.

As far as the OU bashing...leave them alone. They have done what very few other schools have had the guts to do. Call themselves out to the NCAA. Not only have they called themselves, they booted a potential starter on the OL, and the starting QB. Give me another top tier program that has done likewise....Bob Stoops should be commended, not torn down! Bear Down you Cats!

the team has improved markedly under Coach Stoops. The cupboard was pretty bare when he got here thanks to Tomey's inability to recruit following the 12-1 season and Mackovic's general ineptness.

Stoops' recruits are finally starting to hit upper class status.

The only cries for his removal are from the morons in the Old Pueblo that think he should have been able to resurrect this program from the depths of the bottom 10 to a powerhouse overnight.
