After spending the offseason adding weight and strength, Tennessee quarterback Erik Ainge couldn't help but shake his head at what happened on Monday: an injury to the pinky finger on his right (throwing) hand. Ainge said he jammed the finger at practice while performing handoff drills, but UT Coach Phillip Fulmer said it occurred during a quarterback-center exchange. Regardless, Ainge may not practice the rest of the week but is still expected to start at Cal on Saturday.

The CAL-TENN game is shaping up to be a more interesting one than I thought. The BEARS do have a tendency to get stage fright on national TV though. A lot's riding on this game for the rest of the PAC-10 (excluding USC).

This is so if you UT falls in this game they will have an excuse and if they win they will look better than they really are.

Or it could give UT an honest disadvantage in the match-up. Not everything is all about the PR like it is in Cali.

Cal will win this game and put Tennessee to shame! With or without Ainge Cal is far and away a superior program. No one can argue with that! (-;

UT will hold its own against Cal it maybe a close game but the Vols will win

The Vols would stand a lot better chance if they opened at home.
