Brewers finger ace for return

Unless Ben Sheets' middle finger fell off in his sleep Tuesday night - and anything is possible with him - the Milwaukee Brewers' long-lost ace will return to the mound Wednesday. Sheets cleared his final hurdle when he played catch in the outfield during the Brewers' batting practice at Wrigley Field without damaging the blister that delayed his return.

What in hell do you think about that,

August 29, 2007  11:05 AM ET

I think that Milwaukee's Urinal Sentinel seems to be lacking faith in Sheet's ability to stay on the mound....

I also lack faith in that department. I NEEDS to stay healthy for this team to contend.

You've got that right, but the guy seems to be 'Mr. Glass' out there.

My prediction for tonight's game.....Sheets turns his ankle in the 3rd inning walking back to the rubber.

lol or his finger will fall off mid throw.

August 29, 2007  01:48 PM ET

...of course, now that I say that, Soriano will probably trip over a pidgeon in the outfield and blow his other quad.

I don't think the Brewers need to be fingering anybody if you want my opinion. It's just wrong

August 29, 2007  02:54 PM ET

Hey, finger an ace all you want, just be sure to wash your hands after!

August 30, 2007  03:57 AM ET

Nice. Ben pitched a good game tonigh. Back in second for now.

"Finger(s) ace"? Jeez, I believe that's a felony just about any where else than Milwaukee. Although, it could be considered a new breakthrough in rehabilitation; but, then again, it might not be for everyone.
