No evidence of refs gambling illegally

As the NBA moves beyond last month's gambling-related guilty pleas by former referee Tim Donaghy, Commissioner David Stern said ongoing questioning of the league's 60 referees' personal histories of gambling has not found any other criminal activity. Stern defended his current referees, and the league's referee supervisory system, which has been criticized by retired officials Mike Mathis and Hue Hollins.

The Celtics are relevant again. Scola seems to be an interesting addition to the Rockets. Oden and Durant makes the Blazers and Sonics worth watching. The Grizzlies looks intriguing with Darko and a new coach. And the lousy Webber has no team yet.

I hope this issue doesn't spoil the coming NBA season.

Of course Stern is going to say that. He definitely doesn't want anymore talk of this issue. His ref's are so shady on that court, anymore coming out with huge gambling problems would probably tank the league.

Cover up!!

I hate that one person, who wasn't even a player is bringing this drama upon the NBA. I don't think this is a big epidemic and I don't feel that this graceful game should have a dark cloud hovering over it's future games.

Someone's in denial .....

what a joke. NBA refs obviously cheat, anyone remember that game six of the western conference finals a couple years back, lakers against Kings. The fourth quarter it was like 8 on 5 with the referee laker alliance making a staggering comeback against sacramento in an elimination game for LA. What a surprise. I'm a Celtics fan but I lost a lot of respect for the league, and interest in the league on that exact night.

Great. Now I can sleep at night again.
