Source: Mariners ready to trade Lee

06:49 AM ET 06.27 | Publicly, the Seattle Mariners are saying that they are still waiting to see if the team can turn it around before considering trading away Cliff Lee. In reality, the Mariners would immediately take the deal if the right offer came along today. The sooner Seattle sends Lee to a contender, the less money they have to pay of this season's salary, the sooner they get to utilize the prospects they plan to receive in the trade and the less they risk Lee getting injured and losing his trade value. According to sources, the Mets, Dodgers and Rangers have already made serious inquiries to gauge the potential of acquiring Lee.
