06:52 AM ET 07.01 | On Wednesday, after Tomas Berdych pummeled Roger Federer 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in their Wimbledon quarterfinal match, another side of Federer's personality came out. He was sour, sarcastic, self-pitying. He was the portrait of an ungracious loser.

And this comes as a surprise because?.... The guy's played as such a high level for so long, he just can't accept that things like age and the talent of younger players has caught up with him. An another relatively early exit at the US Open will help drive the point home.

At least his hat logo looks nifty. Does Berdych have HIS own Nike logo? TAKE THAT!

Reminded me of Tiger. Both dominated so much so it was easy to be gracious but when things went south, both seem to be whiney losers in defeat.

It's those shaving cream commercials they did together. Kinda like the Madden jinx.

A very apt analogy. You really see a person's true character when the going gets rough.

And why should we be surprised?

Although Federer has had a great career, there has been a fair amount of luck in it.

Don't like him, never did, never will.

Well, only Tiger threatened people though. He'd sick his caddy on people who dared take a picture.

Show me a gracious loser and I will show you a ..... loser.

C'mon, now. He's a professional athlete. He's not supposed to like losing.

Nobody expects him to like losing. It's the excuse-making. Like Serena, any loss is about him being hurt or tired or playing poorly...he could simply say that he got outplayed. Berdych won that match, federer didn't lose it.

The two low points for me with Federdooche were when he cried like a little kid who had just had his candy stolen after losing to Nadal at the Aussie Open during the trophy presentation and when, after winning Wimbledon to pass Sampras' all-time slam record, he whipped out that jacket with the gold lame 15 on it....totally classless.

A lot of luck? How do you luckily dominate your entire sport for a period of 5-6 years? Lemme guess...you don't play sports.

Luck? What luck? You need more than luck to win 16 majors. You don't have to like him, but at least have the facts right.

It makes me happy when he loses. Unfortunately Nadal isn't the same age as Fed or else he wouldn't be anywhere near 16 GS titles.

The only reason Roger would care about his perception now is because he is very obviously being groomed to take a commentators chair when he accepts reality.

What is this article referring to? Did he throw his racquet? Flip off the crowd? Get testy at the press conference? What happened?

He claimed to have a leg injury. Nobody knew anything about this "injury" before and he didn't seem to moving any differently though.
