08:27 AM ET 07.01 | Latest word is that Cretin-Derham Hall grad Seantrel Henderson, who was assured by new Southern California football coach Lane Kiffin during recruitment that USC would not receive serious NCAA penalties, is balking at his commitment and now leaning toward Miami, even though he would have to sit out a transfer season.

"leaning toward Miami".

No. I don't think so. svt would have mentioned this possibility weeks ago.

Have to sit out a year? Geez, the NCAA is a ridiculous organization.

July 1, 2010  08:58 AM ET

Ha ha ha ,, not this story again. This kid should get his own game show. 'See if ya can guess which team I'm thinking of signing with next'.

I'm wondering if coach Lane is having 2nd thoughts about his choice of schools/jobs as well, is his dream job turning out the way he had hoped it would? Remember to always look before ya leap.

It seems this Henderson guy is the Brett Favre of college football.

Didn't T&R run this same basic thread a week ago? We all knew this kid was gonna take a hike. Two upperclassmen who weren't scheduled to play have also transferred. Is there any hint that anyone besides these three might bail? If not, this is hardly news.

Jabba the Weis is fat, by the way. That was the typical way we derailed nonsense threads last summer. Will it work this year?

Speaking of Jabba, I thought the BBQ discussion also derailed a thread quite nicely this week. Will Texas be able to schedule ND now that Bevo won't have to fear the opposing coach? I know that Mangino every few years had to cause Bevo's handlers quite a bit of concern.

I was there last year for the Kansas game, and it was scary. Mangino didn't even notice that there was a game going on (obvious from the score, I guess). He spent the whole game tucking a napkin beneath his lowest chin and opening bottles of BBQ sauce. If we hadn't had the cannon, I fear Bevo might have been in dire peril.

Kelly ain't missed all that many meals, but he looks as if eating is not always first and foremost on his mind. So sure, the Irish are more than welcome to come play us in Austin.

There are no CBB threads today, and this one seems to be a re-run, suitable for derailment.

So here's a naked lady for Crimmy,

And a naked guy for Crimmy's Girl.

It was no real way for Kiffin to know what the penalties would be, but of course he's trying to recruit the kid and cover himself. Too bad this kid was naive to think Kiffin had the inside scoop on what the penalties would be. Have to let this one play out.

Awesome. I love the clips of games vs Baylor in their "We're the underdogs" video.

Agreed. This kid could change his mind half a dozen more times, and still end up staying with the Trojans.

And I say the mighty SVT pipeline, while not being able to see the inside of a wishywashy 5-star recruit's head, will at least be able to provide some solid material input to this situation.

Not near enough dooshbagery happening here on this USC thread, whats up with that!
I'm hearing BB Kings ' The thrill is gone,' playing in the background.

Seantrel is from... where? Minnesota? And he's leaning towards Miami. That won't be much of an adjustment.

Of course, if the guy is being hounded by the ever-hungry-for-a-quote media, and he happens to notice that the direction in which he's leaning happens to be south... well... there you have it.
