09:43 AM ET 07.02 | Prior to the opening of free agency, Brian Burke said the Leafs had received four trade offers for Tomas Kaberle, including one the general manager described as an insult. On Wednesday night, a fifth team ventured into the fray but that offer wasn't tempting enough for Burke either

Come Burkie - don't worry the Sun will still put your name in the paper everyday even if you finally trade him.

Fantastic Burke!!! Sigh.

July 2, 2010  09:59 AM ET

He seems to be trying hard to generate competition for him. Maybe with the top D off the board teams will come calling.

July 2, 2010  10:09 AM ET

And ... Burke wants everyone to believe Kaberle is the village's pretty virgin.

LOL! What is with you and this today? There are apparently a lot of co-ck teases in the NHL.

If he can move him and get what he wants fine...I don't really think staying in Toronto is such a bad thing anyways.
So...all together now...
Bash the Leafs...
Bash Burke...
Bash Wilson...
Bash MLSEL...
Bash the Jays even...
Lets not forget about the Raptors...bash-bash..
Now lets trash the City itself...Trash-trash-and a double bash....bash...
There...silly isn't it.

I happen to really like the city of Toronto? ;)

Not sure what Burke is expecting at this point. The draft has come and gone, which was probably the best chance he had at dealing.

Truth be told, he is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Add in that he is a UFA at the end of next year, he is just a rental at this point. This has been going on for at least a year, probably more. Every day it lingers, the less and less he can expect.

by now Kaberle must be starting to wonder if even his Mother wants him around.

Now that Crosby and Malkin are gone to the Flames, Burke's waiting for the Caps to offer him Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom for Kaberle. ;)

Send him to the KHL!

July 2, 2010  11:27 AM ET

Maybe Burkie was actually telling the truth when he said Kaberle would stay a Leaf until someone offered up a deal he couldn't refuse.. He is one of the top 10 point producing defencemen in the league, and let's face it, points from the blue line are a necessity for most teams...including the Leafs. He still serves a purpose in Toronto, and Burke won't let him go if he doesn't get the right amount of talent in return.

No not at all...it just become somewhat tedious that people who are so capable of actually adding something of merit or depth seem to enjoy beating the same drum over and over again...but hey, welcome to the pack...

Kaberle is the one guy the Leafs should keep. I don't know why Burke keeps throwing him out there.

Kabby is gone. Burke has to deal him for a 1st line type forward. Nice pickup in Versteeg and Armstrong. Good depth guys, Versteeg has a chance to score 30 with 1st line minutes. I would love to see Burke sign Raffi Torres to a reasonable deal. That would give them intsant credibility with Kessel, Versteeg, Kulemin (if he re-ups) , Bozak, Armstrong, whoever they deal Kabby for and possibly Torres. We will see.

Haven't scientists proved that a giant black hole occupies the center of the universe? I gotta look for that article....
