08:33 AM ET 07.04 | Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov somehow found a fence to sit on yesterday afternoon outside Nello's restaurant at 62nd Street and Madison Avenue. Just two days after meeting with LeBron James in Cleveland in an attempt to sell the Nets as the best place for the most sought-after free agent in history, Prokhorov was reticent to make a comment. According to an employee at Nello's, who wanted to remain nameless but spent some time talking with Prokhorov, the 45-year-old Russian billionaire told him that the chances of signing James were, "50 percent."

QUOTE(#5):

he seems like he 'gets it'-that is good news for the nyet franchise

He is good for them...i really think they are on the right track...i dont see them getting a top guy because of last seasons record but they will be attractive down the road.................and as long as the owner is willing to spend they will only improve...

Throw out last season record.....I feel the selling point to FA are, New young rich owner, New real coach Avery Johnson vs Kiki last year, Team with 35m CAP room, and Team with Harris, Lopez.....so try to add LBJ at sF, and then Boozer at pF

QUOTE(#2):

I do like proko, its good for the nets to shoot for the moon....Why not.....But I have little faith in what he says as he also said he was wining the draft lottery ( though some think favors might be the best pro long term)We'll find out his week.

Ya he's made some big promises that I don't think he can keep. The only shot his 12 win Nets team have at getting LeBron is if they can somehow trade for Chris Paul, but IF it happens I think the Cavs can beat them to the punch because they got more favorable players to give up. Hey JGB, you happy about Amar'e?

I think their chances are good. It's either them or the Bulls. The Nets have really good talent. Lopez and Favors will be a great frontcourt for 10 years. Don't underestimate Favors. If Lebron comes in, Favors won't be needed to do much. All he'll have to do is rebound and defend. He can do that rightaway. They don't need a star PF. Wade should come in with Lebron. Plus the owner, plus Jay-Z, plus Lebron can be the first man to create a winning Nets legacy. He'll practically be in NY, as well. Looking good for NJ.

i agree they are attractive and for a number of reason but i dont see them land one of the top three guys but a boozer or lee would be great for them

Dallas will get him, we have Dirk back so now cuban can start talking to LeBron and company. LeBron will wear #7 in Dallas, book it.

LeBron could do alot worse than NJ. I actually think they have some pieces that LB could do something with. That is if he can find some heart.
