08:44 AM ET 07.04 | Amare Stoudemire flew into New York yesterday, and he already is recruiting other stars around the league to join him on the Knicks. "I've talked to Carmelo Anthony to come out here, I've talked to Tony Parker," Stoudemire said last night after seeing a Broadway show. "Both those guys are ready to join me if I decide to come here, so I'm gonna see if we can work it out." Stoudemire said he also was hoping to play with the leader of this year's historic class of free agents -- LeBron James.

That's all well and good, but it takes more than hopes and happy thoughts to get players and build teams. I'm sure the Knicks would LOVE 'Melo and Parker on the team. But so would a bunch of other teams.

So What NY has gave up on Free Agents this summer .....and is having Amare start recruiting free agents, Melo, and Parker for next summer 2011

No kidding.
Even with Melo and Parker the Knicks are going to have a tough time dealing with Miami or Chicago if the manage to bag to of the top FA. In 2011 they could be facing a team in the East with two allstars who have already spent a year together.

come on now-you're telling me that amare, melo and parker is not a serious contender ??- Now I am NOT SAYING IT IS HAPPENING....but I mean what do you want ? a walk through the park ?it SHOULD be tough to make the finals, no ?I mean I think many people on the boards have gone insane-they are in HEAVY video-game mode, where unless there are5 HOF'ers on the roster....the team will suck- come on , be FAIRAll you can hope for if you are a FAN of a team is that you havea chance to compete for a ring- NO ONE is guaranteed that- - when the season starts- you want a CHANCE to be a player-

Amare is talking out the side of his neck ......he is using that to get some leverage to make sure the knicks give him his 100 mil contract...............

NOT SAYING IT IS HAPPENING- but facts are :1- Denver has already said they ain't losing him for nothing- they would trade him, rather than him walking2- Melo's wife wants him to be either in NY or LA for her career-3- (minor reason) melo is from NY and went to college hereagain- I am not hinging my hopes on Melo coming- but it is possible....especially if all the teams are back over the cap after this years FA period

Im sorry but his fianc?? doenst want to be in NY or LA ........if you follow her you know that is so untrue ....

i have read the articles oh he put his house on the market not realizing he has been looking for a new crib and studio for his record label for almost a year

and i expect him to sign the extension before next year staying......simply because of the new CBA

"Not Me" says Amare and looks around!

I am not saying otherwise- - but again- why are you quoting THIS post- when I said abovein post #1, the SAME basic thing as you ?

i dont see where you said that .but the fact remains he is saying that crap to insure NY offers him the max..the suns have renounced him and other teams are hesitate to make him a max offer because of them not being able to insure them

Player nr. 3 who's massively overpaid. Amare at 20 mil.? Well...so who's going to want to come to NY and play with Amare and...nobody else? The Knicks will suck. Lostwill, where are you at?

Melo and Parker are pipe dreams. Instead of overpaying for underachievers, they should rebuild slowly. The Knicks probably won't win another title in my lifetime, and I'm not even 30 yet...

I could see it happening, but the Knicks got to give the Nuggets some players because I don't think they're going to take Eddy Curry and a bunch of scrubs for their best player. I think the Knicks going after Melo, last year than LeBron this year makes a ton of more sense, for the reasons stated. I just don't know if NYC has the players...
