09:08 AM ET 07.05 | A year ago, Ohio State had just nine pledges before the Fourth of July in a bumpy recruiting season defined by high-profile misses and 12 of the top 14 players in Ohio -- the in-state players given a 4- or 5-star rating by Rivals.com -- ending up somewhere other than at OSU. With Friday's oral commitment of Columbus safety Ron Tanner, Ohio State has 17 players in its Class of 2011, 12 from Ohio.

12 of the top 14 Ohio recruits went somewhere other than Ohio State? That honestly blows my mind.

Ahhh, to make grommets on the deck of the Santa as the Scioto River rolls by. What are those 18 year olds thinking?

Ed, your avatar pic looks to be lifted from the film, 'Titanic' and is of the captain standing before the staircase in first class. In post seven, you are "waxing eloquently" about "making" grommets on the deck of the Santa as the Scioto river rolls by... Ed, these things could be viewed as disturbing on a number of levels by the regular denizens of these CFB threads.
Just a friendly "heads up," Ed.

OK, Buckeye fans, once more I open the breach and ask that you charge through to win the day. Tressel-Out at the 'Shoe during a nationally televised game in 2010 - an entire stadium full of Buckeye fans wearing the vest, slacks, collar, and tie. If you do this, you will set a standard that will live on and on and on. If you don't, then Buckeye fandom will be forever defined by the riot in Columbus after the Fiesta bowl victory over Miami - more than 100 arrests for felonies and misdemeanors including arson, wanton destruction of property, looting, and assault.

Thanks. I can see where one might be concerned about someone who uses an image of a guy who captained an unsinkable ship to the bottom of the Atlantic and who gets nostalgic about making "nooses" but please don't worry as it is easily explained -- I'm a lifelong Irish fan.
