08:02 AM ET 07.06 | Randy Couture and James Toney seem to be on different scales when it comes to their fight. This past Saturday, Toney told MMAjunkie.com that the boxer vs. MMA fighter bout, which is scheduled to co-headline Boston's UFC 118 event on Aug. 28, will be a catchweight affair. UFC officials later confirmed the plans. But Couture's representatives today said that they've heard no such thing, and the UFC Hall of Famer is expecting to fight at heavyweight.

I thought this thing was taking place at LHW. HW/LHW, where you gonna be Couture?

I would think Couture would have an advantage as LHW.

This should be interesting....

It should be one-sided.

James Toney? Like... Lights Out James Toney? The guy that literally ate his way out of the Cruiserweight boxing title? He hasn't fought anyone in boxing worth mentioning since at least 2003... and he's taking up MMA now? I expect him to take a severe beating.

I sure hope so...in regards to the beating.

Regardless of weight class, if Randy can make the weight at all I give him the advantage over Toney.

Is this seriously supposed to be a co-headline fight?

Edgar v BJ Penn
Randy Couture v James Toney
Nate Marquardt v Rousimar Palhares
Kenny Florian v Gray Maynard
Nate Diaz v Marcus Davis
Jorge Rivera v Alessio Sakara
Joe Lauzon v Terry Etim
Andre Winner v Nik Lentz
Phil Baroni v John Salter

That Kenflo fight alone could headline compared to some recent PPVs. This card isn't too shabby.

Florian-Maynard does look good, as do Rivera-Sakara and Diaz-Davis. Edgar-Penn is also a legit headline fight. I agree that overall it's a good card, but come on ... James Toney? Was Jose Canseco already booked elsewhere?

James Toney is lazy.....he probably thinks this will be an easy fight for him because of his boxing experience, & thinks iall he needs to land is one good punch.....HE might be the one getting his "lights out".....

Couture by RNC. Ground game for Toney is a huge question mark. Couture immediately takes Toney down since Toney is very dangerous standing. Maybe dirty box / clinch in the second round but round one will be a wrestling clinic by Couture.

I would like the see the fight at LHW just to benefit Couture. Toney is much slimmer but doubt he can make 205.

In that video he says he "HEARD" about boxers being called out! In the above article he says he NEVER messes with the internet.

Who is King Mo Mousasi....and he claims he tapped out King Mo by rear naked choke! Toney wanted to fight Lesnar!!!? Chuck was SCARED!!!? Couture doesn't deserve to be in the Hall of Fame!!!? David Hayes is gay!!!? He owns a Couture doll!!!? He has a freakshow in between his legs!!!? (Is he a dual sex aka hermaphrodite) PPVs are 55.99!!!? (MMA doesn't rob people as much as boxing, i.e. weak cards for way too much)

I want to see this fight...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BkouSDCOHg

James Toney kept harrassing Dana White every ufc event begging for a fight, Dana finally gave in and signed him to fight Randy. I don't think Dana really wanted to do it

LOL my thoughts exactly. When i first heard of it i could only skeptically wonder if it was "that James Toney ? After he takes the thumping his next bout may have to be against Tonya Harding.

learn that you cannot step into a cage and think you can win a mma fight being one dimensional. back in the early early days of mma/ufc you might be able get away with it.(and it was being a jiu jitsu specialist usually that dominated the cage not being a striker) but now....almost all mma fighters that step into the cage need to be well trained and more than familiar with all the disciplines(boxing, grappling, kickboxing, wrestling, etc...) don't get me wrong i think toney is probably a tough guy and definitely has 1 shot KO power using 4oz gloves but he better have a backup plan if swinging for the fences does not work.
