08:04 AM ET 07.09 | In the midst of suffering the unparalleled loss of LeBron James to the loathed Pat Riley and his Heat, the Knicks are experiencing additional upheaval and misery, an impeccable source informed The Post late last night. According to someone in the know, team president Donnie Walsh "may possibly retire" within the week because of "health" and "a failure to land LeBron" -- a plan he sold to Cablevision owner James Dolan soon after signing a $15 million, three-year deal in April 2008.

So he's gonna pull a Pat Riley and flee when the going gets tough, citing health issues?

Your plan to get us cap space and help us start over was a good one.We didn't get the ' grand prize' -Miami simply had more to offerBut I maintain that we are in a better position than we were when he came.....as I could not stand the FILTH Isiah brought inWe at least now have OPTIONS.....which is something we haven't had in 10 years

Very true. I wonder what Plan B or C is now that LeBron is out of the picture.

He can sure retire for health reasons but he sure did his best to put us in a position to move forward with or without Lebron. In a way I'm happy he didn't join us. Lebron's a punk. There's nothing Walsh could have done better. We're talking about the same guy that can't control who bangs his mother and quits in games. That **** won't fly here. His sissy **** is good for Miami... he's definitely not a NY kinda guy... we'll bring it to him if they don't split up before we come up...

Blame this whole crap on freakin Eddy Curry... if he didn't get fat we wouldn't be in this position. I'm surprised there's no punishment for such reckless behavior. If he comes to camp out of shape Dolan should garnish his wages and take him to court.... even though he'll win the court battle the temporary starvation from not getting paid will pump some senses into his head and serve as a deterent to players that don't take care of their bodies...

Don't worry Knicks fans. You still have enough money to sign Adam Morrison to a max deal.

Eddy Curry is gonna be off the books next year maybe sooner then Walsh's job will be complete. Hopefully we will get someone young and smart like Pritchard to run this team.

LOL well didn't take ya long from touting Curry as one of the main reasons elite guys wanted to come to blaming him again.

Pritchard doesn't fit the NY way, as he likes to assemble good young talent. NY and Walsh believe in the opposite

Don't get me wrong... nobody likes lazy people but that doesn't mean he's condemned.

While I'm a Knicks fan to the core.I agree with your statement some what. The NY mindset is to try to assemble stars when it should be, create stars.

Word is Walsh is not doing that great health wise - However I agree with some of the other posts - He got us out of the never ending cycle of Cap Hell that the Knicks were in for 10 years.

Curious to see what Plan Z is for the Knicks now that the Lebron Circus is finally over - Good times are a coming for the Knicks - wait and see....

Good retirement, Mr. Walsh! You accepted a mission that was WAY OVER YOUR HEAD and started it on the wrong foot: hiring the most overrated coach in the league.
