Market for Jefferson drying up

09:51 AM ET 07.09 | The market for Richard Jefferson appears to be shrinking daily, even among the LeBron losers with ample salary cap space. One high-ranking Knicks official said Thursday that Jefferson was never in the team's plans, even if it whiffed on James. Aside from the Spurs, the Clippers could be Jefferson's best bet, but they are reportedly chasing Mike Miller instead. The Spurs are expected to offer a multi-year contract starting at a shade above that, at a number that reduces their luxury tax hit.

Ask the Spurs if it's too late to get that 16 million you opted out of back.

He should of took the money on his last year of his contract and prove to people he is worth another contract.. I don't see him getting paid by any teams other then taking less money.

i doubt this is true...if you look at the contracts that have been handed out he will get paid...he is part of the next tier of players that will be signed....he should thank lebron , bosh , and wade for driving up their value

Well the other side of the Coin....all the players who took less, Dirk, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen,....and after RJ had a bad year in SA....is RJ on the downside at 30....leaving $15.2m on the table....to try to get a $10m long term contact...may have back fired on RJ.....how talk is MLE $5.8m vs $10m

July 9, 2010  10:50 AM ET

If RJ doesn't get a big contract he should fire his agent and hire Travis Outlaw's agent. Apparently, that man can sell ANYTHING!!

Even bad deals turn good in the long run for the Spurs FO...<Big Smile>.....Jefferson will have to resign with the Spurs and for a fraction of that preposterous 16 million a year...more like half that per per year for 3-4 years...and he is worth that...

July 9, 2010  11:17 AM ET

I think the clippers would be a nice fit for Rj and they have tons of cap space i think his best bet is to go to LA...

July 9, 2010  11:17 AM ET

Qick question on an math problem that i'm struggling with

Is Travis Outlaw >, < or = to Richard Jefferson
