SMU has a football team? I thought it died.

A sad fact. SMU learned nothing. This last April they HONORED two alumni. These two did as much to kill FB there as anyone.

"Dickerson and James are the 12th winners of the award, created by the SMU Athletic Forum in 1998 to honor former running backs who excelled at the collegiate level and also distinguished themselves as leaders in their communities."

SMU? Been awhile since anything relevant came from that program. Will be interested to see what they do under Jones

A guy I work with played left tackle for SMU. While there, Craig James was brought in to speak to the team and give them a "pep talk." James basically talked about himself and basically admitted that his standard of living went down with the Patriots. Not sure he's the role model you want speaking to the team.

Interesting. Not surprised. He would be a jerk if he worked at Walmart.

Did he say anything about how if you don't practice hard all the time, and obey the team rules, and don't try to be a team member, you might have to go to an airconditioned shed? Just wondering.....

He's light in the shorts to be a DE.

So he wears an XXS cup! I still think with 21 sacks in a season, he may get a look at DE as a freshman too. 3-4 does put him in a OLB spot for the blitz and outside coverage though.

First game against T. Tech and the Tubs. On ESPN. 2:30 pm. 9/5/10. enjoy. While not a SMU fan even though the school is within spitting distance from me, you might watch Emmanuel Sanders. He was relevant enough to be a 3rd round draft pick for the Steelers and selected to be the heir apparent for Santonio Holmes. Shawnbrey McNeal is UFA with San Diego Chargers. He's a good back, went to U of Miami for two years before transferring back to SMU.June Jones has the program on the right track. 8-5 last year with a Hawaii Bowl victory over Nevada. Got a ways to go but his style is good for the school and if he can turn Hawaii around then by picking up kids like this and having the DFW area plus Texas kids for a recruiting ground he's gonna do well I think. He still can't beat TCU or Houston yet.

June Jones will make some noise in Texas this coming season.

Does SMU play a 3-4? Anybody know how big the kid is, and how fast? It's just SMU, so maybe no one cares.

I care! I was there when SMU won the Cotton Bowl. My late husband helped spearhead keeping football on campus so all students could attend. I found their win in the Bowl game in Hawaii a sign of things to come. So, you betcha I care...and so do many others. Go Mustangs!
