FIRST!

So they went from backing him up in all these news reports to pretty much letting him go? hmmm.....makes perfect sense!

But when? Now or after the season.

This is Vick's last season under contract with the Eagles. So it's pretty obvious they would be preparing to lose him next off-season.

It does, considering the wrong kind of attention he brought onto himself.

They were going to lose him to free agency regardless. He wants to be a starter which will never happen in Philadelphia.

I don't like the guy, but unless charges are filed Goodall should shut up. Fire him without due cause and he may be the next owner of the Eagles.

You have this bozo, then you have Mike Williams being told he has blood clots near his heart and he can't play this season (or, maybe, ever again).

Forgive me if I exhibit not one ounce of compassion for Vick.

Eagles preparing or life without Vick

It shouldn't be too hard. He didn't do **** last year anyway. (And he's a dick.)

July 11, 2010  10:24 AM ET

Michael hasn't done much to make the Eagles feel like they had to keep him. He hasn't played very well in the opportunities he's been given; he probably isn't going to draw a lot of interest as a FA, so he isn't going to come back with some big contract offer for them to match; and he's shown again that he will make decisions in his personal life that will put his football career in jeopardy.

He may want to tell the truth someday to the commish. That is one of the reasons Goodell has no patience with Vick. He lied, strait face, to him in 2007. Over and over. And yes, the NFL can give him a few games off without any repercussions to them.

Consider this: As Roddy White has his own issues with the NFL.

"Video has surfaced showing that Vick left three minutes before the shooting occurred, which is in direct contradiction of the statements of Vick???s attorney Lawrence Woodward and White."

This is not over until Goodell says it is over. And he has the power. That is what the Eagles do not know yet. They have no intentions of cutting him, but he may not be available for a game or two. That is what they have to plan for.

There is more to this story then convick and his crew are letting on. Do the right thing eagles and let this joker go. I have less respect for this monster of a human being then any other man in the NFL. He has yet to show any remourse for what he did or think he's done anything wrong, or he wouldn't be hanging with the same homies. Now let's hope the eagles drown his nfl chances like he did so many dogs.

The Eagles better be preparing. This is going to be one beach of a season.

What? Not sure if you're aware of this, but teams are allowed to cut players....cut players for whatever reason they want.

Probation has just stated, he's no longer to leave the State of Pennsylvania, until the investigation is over.

It is not over. No one wanted to cooperate with police at the time or say much. But that stuff changes in time as stuff starts to run down hill.
Matters not. the NFL is not done with this. Reid would let it all go, but it is not his choice.

Right now the police consider this a closed case. They say they know who fired the shots but no one will step forward to ID the shooter, and the DA doesn't have sufficient evidence or testimony to proceed. It's not surprising that Quanis Phillips (the victim) won't say anything, because he's still on probation, which means he shouldn't have been around Vick one way or the other.

I have a strange feeling that they are already prepared for life after Vick.

Goodell can suspend him for violating the league's conduct policy. The Eagles are aware of that and are preparing for that possibility. If he does get suspended, the Eagles would be perfectly within their rights to release him.

That doesn't eliminate the possibility of making brand new mistakes.

Dungy is more than an optimist I think he is Vicks agent. He seems overly concerned with a soon to be has been.

This comes as absolutely no surprise. Vick just can't help himself and trouble just plain finds him. I'm a firm believer that everyone in life deserves a second chance at anything, but Vick's time and his chances are now up. It's time for someone far more deserving to have a chance to play professional football.
