08:01 AM ET 07.12 | The good news is often the bad news when it comes to a vote of confidence, and, on Sunday, Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts extended one to general manager Jim Hendry. "The fact is right now, Jim is our general manager, I support him, I think he does a great job, and after that we'll just take it one day at a time," Ricketts said. This is the Ricketts family's first season as the Cubs owners, having completed the purchase last October. ... "In the end, you put the guys on the field and in the right chairs and you support them and hope they do the best. That's all we can do at the moment."

Those seats confirm the confidence Cubs fans have in Hendry.

Time to clean out that locker skipper.

Cubs are doomed.......until they get rid of some of Hendry's "great" contract-signings!

Still waiting on these mooks to start dumping salaries, and I'm hoping that, 'vote of confidence' notwithstanding, Hendry's is one that is dumped.

The Cubs suck and a 101 year curse will never end, Rickets knows that but doesn't want to let the loyal cubbie fans know.

Its about time. This fool has been running the gig too long. Should have hired Girardi instead of Lou. I like Lou, but he's no Joe.

Should have hired Joe Torre. At least he can manage.

Clean the house totally...top to bottom. Goodbye Hendry......we had the same inbreeding problem here w/ the Bosox for quite a while.

Translation: This year is a wash, so why mess things up with panic moves. But come October 6, everyone including the peanut vendors and yearbook salesmen are out on their ****.

Hendry probably should have been fired immediately after the Soriano signing, but I can't see anyway he survives until next year.

i'll say this. if a bosox fan says that the cubs org looks like the red sox did 10 yrs ago then that observation should not be ignored.

Talk about under-acheiving.....it is embarrassing that they still haven't done more with the money they spend

The Cubs SUCK! Hendry should have been fired for even THINKING of signing Sori-****-ino for 8 years/$136 M when NO ONE was lining up for this guy at 30 yrs old. Pile on the Head Clown Zambrano, Fukodome, Bradley, and you've got a ghost ship sailing to the edge of another 102 year doom. The Cubs are the laughing stock of MLB - $140 M for this heap of ****? and the highest ticket prices in the bigs? I've been a fan for 43 years but I can't support this heaping pile of fecal matter any longer with a bunch of lame brained bass-turds. Go Red Sox!

Ricketts should have invested in BP stock, a better investment than the Cubs. Chicago has one legit baseball team. Go White Sox!
