Minnesota coach Tubby Smith is pursuing three top-100 recruits, one of whom, Toronto point guard DeVoe Joseph, visited on Friday. DeVoe's final considerations include the Gophers, Illinois, St. John's and Connecticut. Visiting this weekend are 6-foot-10, 230-pound Colton Iverson of South Dakota and 6-11, 220-pound Ralph Sampson III of Georgia. Iverson is considering Minnesota and Nebraska; Sampson has Kentucky, Maryland, Georgia and Georgia Tech among his finalists.

Tubby Schnubby- you are still a bone head in my book

September 6, 2007  10:57 AM ET

I am excited to see what Tubby can pull off. The guy above me is apparently a Dan Munson fan.

September 6, 2007  10:58 AM ET

Im sorry i cant comprehend why this is inportant to anyone? one, its basketball, two, its minnesota basketall...blah

September 6, 2007  11:00 AM ET

The Tubster will do a good job in gopherland...not as much pressure or alumni all in your kool-aid...he will have those guys playing serious defense...can't wait til they play Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State...

I like the fact that Tubby is going after the kids north of the border, they will love the warmer climate in Minn.

If it's not important, you didn't have to stop and post then with your water lilies. Regardless, it's still going to take this team a year or two to really improve

September 6, 2007  02:25 PM ET

Actually Cousin Kyle this GIRL likes UGA and if you REMEMBER Tubby Smith DUMPED us for Kentucky. Does that help? :-)

September 6, 2007  02:35 PM ET

Sorry Sweety! Your very bitter. Are you upset you were dumped?

September 6, 2007  02:49 PM ET

Actually it just irks me his teams are always so good and UGA always stinks!! I still got the Techies to watch though, they are normally pretty exciting. :-) I will forgive you this time!! (watch it though...ladies NEVER forget)

September 6, 2007  02:59 PM ET

Just to mess with guys like you, glad you like the flowers too!

September 6, 2007  04:26 PM ET

All the best coach. You actually did UK a favor leaving when you did. I wish you luck, but going to a second tier program, was life that bad?

September 6, 2007  05:57 PM ET

Tubby is the worst thing to happen to Badger basketball since Mark Vershaw's haircut. Bo could grab pretty much any 'Sotan recruit he wanted. Not anymore. As much as I like to talk **** about the Goophs, Tubby will make them relevant again. People have short memories if they think Minnesota hasn't had success in hoops. The kids may have not taken their own tests, or gone to class, but they certainly won games.

Gillespe will never bring a title to Kentucky. They made a huge mistake.

September 6, 2007  07:25 PM ET

So Duany has a point dang it....

September 7, 2007  06:49 PM ET

Billy Gillispie already has racked up more stellar recruits than Tubby did in 10 years. Stick to hockey. Basketball is 24/7/365 in the Bluegrass. Gillispie will have a title in 5 years.

gophers, gophers, gophers, when will you guys learn the Tub will get you guys what 12 wins this year, one more than last..lol, and when he does he will have you in his web of, oh i am sorry next year will be different , same tune, same song...lol. , he tried it here but it did not work , plus we wanted to put pressure on his butt to leave. We have high school teams in this state better than your gophers present and beyond, so go get your 12 to 15 wins and be happy, and watch us in the Final Four soon !!!! see you in the NIT maybe ,or the obituaries

September 7, 2007  11:44 PM ET

gopher's .. even with your 12 win Tub, you guys are still 15 years behind Ohio State and Michigan State at this point. so go get'em Tub , maybe 20 wins when you guys get dropped from the Big Ten to the Div 2 a..lol... there a good chance,??? but please don't blame it on the Tub , if you do he will crack under pressure and say they where to tough on me in gopher land, so please , if you want him , don't say anything and go to his boring games of slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww ball, and sleep ,I did.

September 8, 2007  06:06 PM ET

TubbyBall blows for sure.

September 9, 2007  10:44 AM ET

You know what amazes me? That Kentucky fans believe they deserve NCAA Championships just because they are Kentucky. You never hear UCLA fans sounding nearly as idiotic as Kentucky fans.....ooooh Kentucky, you are so special. Get real. So KY has a few Championships. Big deal. The entitlement you hear from KY fans is nauseating.

September 9, 2007  12:16 PM ET

Kentucky fans are more realistic about basketball than most realize. Don't misinterpret that over enthusiasm of a few, to be representative of the fans base as a whole. We know how difficult it is to remain a top flight program and win the championship. And, unfortunately, we had to learn it the hard way during the past 8 years.
