Grizzlies center Darko Milicic did more than offend officials earlier this week during the European Championships. His new NBA bosses aren't happy, either. Griz general manager Chris Wallace and head coach Marc Iavaroni spoke with Milicic via telephone Thursday, and admonished the 7-footer about his threatening and distasteful interview following a loss to Greece. Speaking in his native tongue, An irate Milicic spewed vulgar remarks about the referees and their families.

This guy should be angry all the time, he is one of the top three worst draft picks in sports history

The biggest knock on this guy (and i know this because i actually like darko) is that he plays basketball with no passion. Bill SImmons once said he always looks like he is half asleep.

With that being said, it's good to see him so animated and passionate about a loss. Every analyst seems to say that he needs intensity and there is nothing wrong with feeling bitter after a loss. If i was memphis i would secretly be a little impressed for this action "seems" uncharacteristic of Darko.

To be so bitter at 22.......

September 7, 2007  09:35 AM ET

Agree with Floridaboy5. A little (not a lot) Rashweed in Darko's demeanor would make him a better player. He needs to play with that kind of passion.

September 7, 2007  05:12 PM ET

A at least he's showing some emotion in Orlando he was punk**** all the time and acting like a pa pa pa pa pa****

September 7, 2007  06:20 PM ET

Am I the only one who thinks this is hilarious? Esp. the part where he only got fined 10,000 euros. If that happened in the NBA, the player would be buried with Jimmy Hoffa right now and Stern would be talking about how great the NBA officials are.

September 7, 2007  09:04 PM ET

10,000 Euros is like 7 bazillion dollars. Seen exchange rates lately?

September 7, 2007  09:09 PM ET

Darko is really childish and shallow guy. From the moment he got rich, he stopped being interested in basketball. He plays as much as he needs, nothing more, sometimes less.
On the other hand in this game if you saw it refs made tons of suspicious and dubious decisions. Even crowd in the hall where against refs. And they were neutral Spanish people.

Here you can see that interview eith English translation:

Trade him to the Knicks. He and Marbury would be stepping all over each other to see who can say the stupidest thing every day.

THE TRUTH understands.

September 7, 2007  11:27 PM ET

sany,

very good English just missing a couple of articles. And, you are describing most NBA players in general.

September 7, 2007  11:31 PM ET

Dark-o is what his comments were.

Dark-o is where his head is.

Darker-o is where his game is.

Darker-o is where is career will be in Memphis.

Memo to Milichick: stopyerbitchin.

He's making millions of dollars for being a bust. What does he have to be angry about? Cry baby.

seems like i remember rasheed wallace and ben wallace saying our boy darko was a real "gangster" and if those two think that, he must be pretty tied up. i guess if you grow up in a civil war zone in russia, one might just pick up an attitude. its just a bummer he couldnt have shared all that knowledge with the official in another way. hey look on the bright side-it only looked like portland was going to steal the draft, seems as if oden will be riding the pine this year following the news of microfracture and 7 footer in the same sentence. man that would have been devastating. how do you like that, something good actually did come our way. looks like we got a break not getting the number one, shame on me for complaining. i think conley is going to help us light it up this year, and i have to say that at least darko will outscore oden this year. later, smoke
