09:24 AM ET 07.17 | Derrek Lee has been the subject of trade rumors, but has a no-trade clause that he has not been asked to waive thus far. Friday, he denied a foxsports.com report that said his "friends" believe he would waive the clause for the right team.

He would waive the clause for just about any team that would take him out of Chicago. He will never win with that franchise.

Masochism is the entire point of the Chicago Cubs.

let lee stay with the cubs, no other team would like to take a strikeout prone player, lee hit well only if he was a free agent!

I imagine Lee might have to think hard on whether to accept a trade elsewhere. Most Cubbie fans aren't very discriminating. No championship in over a hundred years and they keep coming to the ballpark as long as the beer keeps flowing. They continue to believe that next year is THE year. Lee's declining skills have pretty much flown under the radar with so many other players attracting any dissatisfaction they harbor Anywhere else Lee would probably receive more scrutiny and criticism.
