07:49 AM ET 07.20 | Lured back to the Jets by Rex Ryan, Kris Jenkins is aiming for a $50,000 making-weight bonus and for the team to live up to the hype. With HBO filming the Jets for its annual training camp series, with Ryan's pronouncements growing bolder in his second season, with expectations that have grown exponentially, Jenkins and the Jets feel a greater sense of urgency. "When you have magnified expectations in New York, you better get it done," he said. "We've got to win. There's no if. We have to win. Trash has been talked. Things have been said. We need to make it happen, or we're going to be embarrassed."

I'd say that Jenkins has a very good understanding of the situation.

$50k for making weight. Have you called Jenny yet?

July 20, 2010  08:22 AM ET

I'll lose weight for 50k.

And this "Hard Knocks" thing will only make it worse if they don't "play up to it".

Trust me - I've seen it first-hand.

Embarrassment? Rex Ryan? Come on if he isn't embarrassed by carrying around his fat butt and ugly mug you think the Jets not living up to expectations is going to embarrass him.....please

I predict Jets don't make the playofffs, most overrated team in history.

Did y'all ever figure out who killed Logan Young?

And where all the money went?

Not so sure I agree. There may be high expectations, but everyone has been just as skeptical of the Jets' off-season moves. A lot of people are predicting the chemistry will not work, and the team might implode. So if the Jets don't win, it'll be more a case of "I told you so", rather than some huge disappointment. It's an experiment in progress.

Snapping up big ticket free agents. Getting their mugs on TV and making big noise. Is this the Jets or the Cowboys?

Nah, the 'Skins haven't been good enough for Hard Knocks lately. Sigh.

they're fun to watch on Hard Knocks tho....

July 20, 2010  09:21 AM ET

Jenkins looks like he's going to hit someone in that picture.

welcome to the mentality of teams who have high expectations every season, the teams who have a few SB's under their belts have the same attittude, welcome to the winners stage. Now can you get it done after telling everyone you're going to get it done?
