Cowboys WR faces decision

There's a chance that Terry Glenn might be able to play this season if he decides to have arthroscopic surgery again on his right knee. But there is no guarantee that would fix the cartilage problem, which flared up after Glenn practiced Wednesday. Glenn might need to have micro-fracture surgery, which would mean that he'd face a long rehab process. That must be a frightening thought for a 33-year-old receiver.

Dallas will draft a WR and a corner in the first round next year....sorry McFadden fans.

September 8, 2007  09:52 AM ET

It's been years since I've thought of Gates McFadden. I can see the attraction.

September 8, 2007  10:03 AM ET

I didn't realize Glenn was 33 already. Sounds like alfred's right, WR should be their #1 priority in next year's draft.

September 8, 2007  10:21 AM ET

D-O-N-E !!!!!!!!!!

September 8, 2007  11:10 AM ET

There were some good ones, wide receivers, they passed up on this year when they traded away their number one. I know they get the browns pic next year, but there is nothing to say it will pan out better in the end. a gamble they took. they are going to need two wides and a cornerback in next years draft.

September 8, 2007  11:51 AM ET

If it's true Glenn is done for the year, then Crayton, Hurd, and Austin have to step up or their probadly only a .500 team. Caldwell is not the answer for the short term.

September 8, 2007  06:06 PM ET

I say Caldwell is the short-term answer. He has experience at the position and we need that as we will be a team that competes this year.

on another note i think glenn will retire...which will S...U..C..K..!!!

Lol at Cowboys have a mean D, oh yeah and they showed their "mean D" vs the Saints last year. Tony Romo is inexperienced and that was proven during the latter part of last season, T.O. is 32 or 33 years old and his clock is running out his best chance for a chapionship came with the Eagles. Saints, Bears, Eagles and Seahawks are all better than the Cowboys and Cowboys will finish another season without a ring. I bet Randy Moss wins a ring before T.O. especially since he has Brady, the best QB in the league right now.

BIG TERRY GLENN FAN, HOPE HE RETURNS. HE IS THE BEST RECIEVER THE BOYS HAD SINCE IRVIN. PRAYING HE RETURNS !! GO COWBOYS

September 9, 2007  01:08 AM ET

Caldwell is not needed. They will have the first pick next year, and take McFadden with that, and will be able to get a nice reciever with their other first round pick

September 9, 2007  02:52 AM ET

TG Baby!!!! all the best!

September 9, 2007  10:28 AM ET

Need more speed. What about Stanback. What's his 40 time? Maybe he can be the one to step up. What about emergency QB? This guy has an incredible opportunity. I don't know much about him but some sports casters rave about him.

September 10, 2007  12:10 AM ET

I hope you are kidding about the Cowboys D being good: Roy Williams- (covers the ball in the air like Sam Adams follows an empty cheeseburger wrapper-that is not very good!!) Terrance Newman is hurt, on & on the Dallas secondary is questionable @ best & (In my best estimation is about as porous as Janett Jameson is doing the splits if anyone knows what I mean!!) Dallas will need Romo to put up 35-40pts a game to be any good this season!!

September 10, 2007  12:11 AM ET

The Cowboys just proved 45 points strong-worth that they dont need anyone named Glenn, Terry or Aaron.

"(In my best estimation is about as porous as Janett Jameson is doing the splits if anyone knows what I mean!!) "

I don't think anyone knows what you mean. Janet Jackson or Jenna Jameson? Either way, thats retarded. I think the D will round into shape as the year progresses, I think the WR's that we have will be able to put up points just fine, and I think that the CLE #1 was a bargain for us.

I think next year we will take the two best skill position players available when our picks come up, and life will go on.
