09:03 AM ET 07.20 | Los Angeles may go down swinging. Losers of four in a row and with 13 of their next 17 games against the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres, the Dodgers, according to baseball sources, have been very aggressive in their pursuit of pitching, both for the rotation and the bullpen. They continue to call the Houston Astros on Roy Oswalt, the Chicago Cubs on Ted Lilly, the Diamondbacks on [Dan] Haren and even the Cleveland Indians on Jake Westbrook and Fausto Carmona. The Diamondbacks once believed they had a possible fit with the Dodgers and Haren, but that was during the [Josh] Byrnes era and those talks had to be restarted. ... The Dodgers also are among the clubs that have expressed interest in all or parts of the available Toronto Blue Jays relievers -- Scott Downs, Jason Frasor and Kevin Gregg. As with every other available pitcher, the Dodgers have plenty of company.

They should check Jamie McCourt's bedroom. From what I understand, there should be a treasure trove of talent in there

LMAO!!! Too bad it seems like it always comes down to pitching withthe dodgers. They have a great group of young guys. If they can get an ace in the rotation I think it will put them over the top.

The Dodgers had the best pitching staff in the NL over the past two years.

I also agree with that.

Yeah, but you can't keep patching together year after year, like Colletti does... It's just frustrating watching this team and expecting them to hit their way to a win...The Dodgers have no stopper in their rotation, that guy you can throw the ball to and know you're going to be in the ballgame... Kershaw still needs seasoning, and Billingsley needs seasoning put on him, cause he's done... Ugh... time to clean a little house and start developing the farm system...

The Dodgers, hell any NL team can do better in FA, if they wanted to, or needed to.

They need to look in East LA!!! Those Gangbangers would love a chance to shoot someone on the field instead of in the parking lot!!!!

July 20, 2010  12:49 PM ET

What the Dodgers need is an owner!!!!! 3 million fans every year and all we have is an $95 million dollar payroll.......the way the Dodgers are run is a joke.. Walter O'malley must be rolling in his grave....

July 20, 2010  12:59 PM ET

bad bad ownership is killing the team. Prices at the stadium have tripleed making it hard to afford a game and prices keep going up the teams payroll keeps going down and the team hasnt won anything. How can u justify upping the price when u field a cheap loosing club. I love the Dodgers and this Idiot is destroying the team. I wish we could get a boycott going for a couple games to really hurt this **** pockets.
