11:03 AM ET 07.20 | Chip Ganassi could win racing's triple crown this weekend with a victory at the Brickyard. A win on Sunday would not only be the owner's first in a stock car, but also mark the rare feat of winning the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400 in the same year. "We have the big events covered, it's those damn events in between that make up the series that we seem a bit challenged by," Ganassi explained. "But if you're going to win, we're winning the ones you want to win."

He has an excellent chance to do that. Montoya beat himself last year. It would be neat to see him redeem himself this year.

There is a very legitemate chance that he can pull this off. Montoya at Indy is fantastic. He is consistently running in the top 5 in all three of his starts and dominated last year before shooting himself in the face. The Earnhardt-Childress Engines have been superb this year and you should expect Montoya as will as the entire Childress Team of Harvick, Burton and Bowyer to be the main threats. Dont sleep on Jamie McMurray either.

Montoya's wife just had a baby on Monday, he just might be elated enough to win this thing.

Unless Edwards punts Montoya too.

I still have issues with what happened last year (too many coincidences at one time), but this article is correct. JPM knows Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I'll even claim it is his best track.

Yeah, I agree. I hate that the CCs can monitor speed everywhere on the race track except pit road, and there is a speed limit there. We sit at the exit of pit road, and JPM didn't appear to leave pit road any quicker than any of the other cars did or were.

i know the big irl fans want JPM to win the brickyard soooooooo bad, but im gonna say he doesnt sniff victory lane. He just seems to always find a way to lose a race, rather than win it. (HE) finds a way to lose it, not nascar taking it from him..

OK, my brain may not be working yet this morning so someone please explain. The story says if he wins the brickyard it would be his first victory in a stock car yet it says he won the Daytona 500. Isn't that a victory in a stock car? I don't understand and i'm sure its me so someone explain without being ugly. Wait, does it mean it would be his first victory at the brickyard in a stock car?

yes. poorly written, first stock car victory for ganassi at INDY. Ganassi has a few other wins in NASCAR, Daytona this year, I believe JPM won for him on a road coarse, and I think some of the last Sterling Marlin wins in the Coors #40 were also for Ganassi. Not sure, too early, not enough beer yet.

Seriously? Is everyone over looking McMurray??? If you ask me, he has a better chance of winning than Montoya!!! McMurray has been a top 10 driver all year, and unlike Montoya, He shows up and backs it up. Unless someone takes McMurray out, look for him to be a contender at the end of the race. He is racing thier best chassis for this race.

Yeah I'm calling conspiracy on last year's Brickyard. If he was speeding why not just print out the damn page and give it to the crew chief RIGHT AFTER it occurs... None of this waiting until two hours after the race. Not to mention the race was quite boring, fan favorite Mark Martin was in second, and golden boy Jimmie Johnson was running third. Oh and how did Jimmie Johnson have the SAME total pit road time on his last stop when his crew gave him a slower stop? Seems to me the only way he could accomplish that was by speeding.
