08:47 AM ET 07.21 | Jake Fisher didn't take long to decide he wanted to play for Rich Rodriguez. The most surprising part of the decision was that Fisher and Michigan connected so quickly. Despite his size, Fisher has been a tight end and has yet to play on the offensive line. In fact, when he ended basketball season, he was down to 245 pounds. But he's already back up to 270 and projects to easily carry 300 on his frame. He went to a few football camps this summer, played on the line and was impressive enough to score offers from U-M, MSU and Cincinnati, plus a call from Notre Dame asking him to come down for a look.

"HS Guy might add 55 lbs and play CFB somewhere" stories just aren't all that interesting.

Is it a NCAA violation to spend more than 4 hours a day at the buffet table?

If it is, I bet Rich Fraud doesn't know it yet?

After eating and drinking my way into a higher wing-loading, I'm back below 1.2:1.0. It hasn't adversely affected my freefall ralative skills, and my knees don't mind the slightly slower descents and softer landings.

No kidding. You'd think they could just regurgitate some of the glowing stories that the media is writing about itself with respect to SEC Media Days or something.

No doubt! I can't decide if this "more-exciting-than-usual" off season is making the wait harder or easier.

I think you guys should start turning some of these stupid threads into CBB threads. Just an idea.

If he wants to play for Rich Rod where is he going to commit?

RichRod won't be coaching Michigan 5 months from today, write it down.

Why not lose 20 and play linebacker?

Wish the wasn't so public so I could connect with you to bet. I'd put some decent $ on that; of course betting that he will return in the fall of 2011.

He's going to need some freshmen and soph's to step up but my guess is they get it done. Maybe by the skin of his teeth but they'll get it done.

2011 will be a more demanding year for RichRod from a record and overall performance standpoint.

Hey SandyUnderpants-- Gariboy was wondering why Southern California fired the highly successful black AD and hired an unproven white one in his place.

You tell Gariboy that the esteemed Mike Garrett RETIRED, with a very nice severance package after 17 years of glorious service with USC. Trust me, Gariboy doesn't want to bring up Ty Willingham again, because it proves racism in Notre Dame of the highest order. I heard they had an opening at Head Coach after their previous coach, who had a worse record than Ty Willingham had at Notre Dame when he got fired, and they replaced him with (Shock!!!) another fat white man. Notre Dame-- 104 years of white head coaches and 3 years with a black one (who was the only one fired before his first 5 years (AND he was more successful than his predecessor and successor (but fired faster than either of those 2 whites))).
