07:27 AM ET 07.23 | In addition to a new defensive coordinator who led the nation's No. 10 defense in 2009, why should Aggies fans be optimistic? Jerrod Johnson is being widely heralded as a Heisman Trophy contender. His play last season set plenty of A&M records, and he returns as the senior leader with aspirations of a Big 12 Championship. His calming, experienced presence in the huddle and on the field should help a young offensive line. And his skill set should push the offense to unparalleled levels.

Being pummeled to all hell by a defensive player because of a missed block might have an effect on that otherwise calm demeanor.

I was excited to hear that A&M was thinking about joining the SEC ... until I heard about the sheep thing. We already have our fill of sheep molesters in this conference.

Oh, and the lack of female cheer leaders. Creepy.

Just substitute the PAC 10 cheerleaders for the SEC versions.
