SMU coach safe -- for now
Phil Bennett has saved his SMU coaching job. For now. Bennett, in his sixth season, has plenty of work to do if he intends to coach the Mustangs next season. His contract runs through 2009, but that's not going to matter if SMU doesn't win seven or eight games and play in December.
