09:01 AM ET 07.24 | As Alex Rodriguez chased home run No. 600, he had a fan cheering him on from Omaha, Neb. Warren Buffett, who advised Rodriguez in 2007 when he negotiated a new contract with the Yankees, believes A-Rod will not stop at 600 or even 700 home runs. The 79-year-old billionaire became acquainted with Rodriguez several years ago when the Yankees third baseman asked for a meeting. The two struck up a friendship and Buffett gave Rodriguez advice after he opted out of his contract with the Yankees in 2007. It was Buffett, and not agent Scott Boras, who helped Rodriguez work out his new deal.

I don't like the new guys getting into the 600 homerun club. Sosa, Bonds, Mcguire, A-rod, they have all have steroid stories whether they deny it or not. Mays, Aaron, Ruth they all played clean and did it before all this high tech batting and pitching.

They also did it with a larger strike zone and a bigger pitcher's mound.

Apples and watermelons.

Exactly!

They even have "special" balls for his "600th" home run. What a joke!

A home run that will just as meaningless as ALL the others.

Just another player who ruined a huge part of a great game.

Let the Mariner/Ranger/Yankee hit 900. There will always be a big * by his name anyway.

Its really hard to believe what the guys in the past had to over come to get those numbers. Its a joke how ESPN keeps this countdown to 600 going. No one gives a dam what numbers this cheater puts up.
