Will Cowboys cut Williams now that Bryant's signed?

09:15 AM ET 07.24 | If the Cowboys were considering cutting Roy Williams, it would come after rookie first-rounder Dez Bryant agreed to terms. Cutting Williams before signing Bryant would have given Bryant more leverage. So with the Cowboys now intent on getting receiver Miles Austin paid, the time could be coming to move on from Williams.

Sorry, Dallas Fans, but Matt Millen got the best of you on that one. But don't take it so badly; even blind squirrels occasionally find nuts.

He sure did and I don't care. Please, please, please JJ, cut Williams now! Bite the bullet on this one and do the right thing. Chalk it off as a huge mistake never to repeat and let's move on.

go figure the lions drafted a WR and he busted.

T&R linking to the wrong player profile too. heh.

He should have been cut last year, but it makes no sense at this point. They are already on the hook for the money so even if he rides the pine this year no problem. If he shapes up maybe he can help. With no salary cap, keep him and Crayton, maybe something good will come out of it. Never hurts to have a few spare parts hanging around unless you need roster room for promising rookies.

Cap free season. If it's gonna happen, now's the time. I agree, he is a lead weight. I will be very upset if they keep Roy and cut Ogletree.

They need the roster room. Romo has no confidence in Roy. I would rather keep Crayton.

Sorry Steve. Maybe they can get a 6th-round pick in 2020 for him or something, I don't care. I cringed when I heard of the trade, I cringed when I saw the contract JJ gave him and I cringed every time Romo throws the ball his way. I don't even want him to ride the pine and I don't believe he'll shape up at all. He has a chip the size of Texas on his shoulder and it shows. I want out of the locker room. For good.

All you guys have no loyalty. We really should have saved the first post for Otis. Roy's #1 fan.

Hell yes. I like Ogletree a lot and Romo always seems to find Crayton a couple of times a game when he gets into a tight spot.

Blame Stu. He started it. Besides, Otis has read most of my past posts on this issue. This thread will not tell him something he doesn't already know about my stand here.

This is the season to remove dead weight. While we're on the subject, time for JJ to turn over team operations to his son, Stephen.

Damn that Stu. He's such a busybody, plus he's a Colts fan.

That's like asking FJM about his opinion of the Broncos coaching situation. It's like asking Elin Nordegrin what she thinks of infidelity. This could get dangerous.

You're right Stu. This might be the only thread ever removed without comments from Ohio.

Indeed. Morning Ste. I just couldn't resist. Clever comment.

Akron reference?

July 24, 2010  10:14 AM ET

No. They will not cut him. He received $9.5 million this March 15, part of his guaranteed money, $2 million of his base salary is guaranteed this year. JJ has $27 million guaranteed in the guy. He will play this year and then they will try to trade him for whatever they can get.
He is paid for, he is always an option, even at number 3 on the roster....

Yes but done sweetly.
